Well,i only bought the car as i like it but to be honest i drive my van or lorry most of the time so it would hardly get used.

I have a workshop where it can go and am useful with spanners and a welder but body work and paint is a no go area with me

Money isnt an issue, dont get me wrong as im not loaded but have plenty to have it restored in a garage if i wished to do so but wouldnt want to spend more on it than the car is actually worth.

Its actually only been off the road since 2008 so fingers crossed it wouldnt need too much work and looks good underneath

Just been looking through the paper work and find some paper work from Scotts saying it has had the nothelle conversion and has a detailed print out with the reg number and what engine work its had and claims its 315bhp and max torque of 395 Nm at 2300rpm so its looking better all the time

Welcome to "I've got a hole in my pocket" land.

A good wash and clean might be first on your list, together with possibly two front wings, and certainly lower door trims, and fresh fuel and the rest.

Just a little bit of work ahead of you so.

Plenty of assistance on here from all that have BTDT before you.

Search or surf on here and you'll be reading for hours.

          Enjoy.

Its now running and sounds well apart from one or two noisey tappets which im sure will shut up as its not been started since 08.
The problem was something to do with the immobiliser, my mate started taking wires apart where its joined into the loom and fired right up with good oil pressure and no nasty unwanted noises so im happy

                Wayne,

                Sweet that it started.

Put in some fresher petrol ?

Change the engine oil and filter as a definite.

                Brake fluid.

Fuel Filter, not a nice job.

In due course think about changing the gearbox oil and maybe the rear diff fluid?

Any photos of the engine bay ?

                Thanks.

Good news. The tappy noise might be coming from the power steering pump.

No fresh petrol as there was so much already in there, the plan was to remove it first but it fired easily.

It hadnt long had a service prior to being parked up and nice looking oil but of course it will have another service at the same time i do the cambelt in next couple days.

I will get some pictures of the engine bay if Andy would be kind enough to put them on again for me.

Its off for a wash in the morning so will see how good or bad it looks then

With a really good bubble bath of wax shampoo and a bit of a 'soft' pressure wash, I bet you'll stand back and giggle like a 5 year old...

                        That'll come up like new...

When doing the cambelt, change the lower toothed pully too. It can often develop a hairline crack, and run the risk of splitting when re-torqued upon refitting.
