Guys need a little advice here ive managed to get my hands on a very good front sub frame and also a very good rear one which will arrive shortly. Now I want my car to feel great and feel new again so what would you recomend doing to make this happen? About 5 years ago I put koni inserts in and put poly bushes alround to. Am putting all new bushes on with these sub frames anything else to change whilst the car be in bits?
Getting my car sorted!!

check your fuel lines at the rear. much easier to replace when the rear subframe is out. check rear diff for leaks too1996 Audi S2 - 295bhp and 326lb/ft - Complete Rebuild Project

Fit new top mounts, check the ball joints and free off the track rod adjusters ready for a proper 4 wheel alignment, I'd do the rear diff mounts and the gearbox mounts too if they've not been done for a few years.Comment

If you are a keen driver consider fitting solid alloy subframe mounts instead of the rubber ones, greatly improves the feedback and accuracy of the car. Downside is a little bit more noise and vibration, but IMO poly bushings are more detrimental to comfort than solid subframe mounts. They sound more drastic than they are.91CQ20v - Gone to a new home

I'm considering moving to solid subframe bushes - if you think about it, with the subframe fully locked down to the chassis, it basically acts as a big chassis brace itself
The only thing holding me back would be the car being too harsh, but i've never been in an S2 with solid mounts.Panthero Coupé quattro 20vt

Because the difference in comfort between OE bushings and Poly bushings is greater than the difference between OE Subframe Bushings and Solid Subframe Bushings.
The difference is subtle enough i doubt a passenger could tell the difference, but once the suspension is loaded up in a corner the driver will notice a big difference.91CQ20v - Gone to a new home

I am running Supaflex subframe bushes (I have a spare set for sale
) and think they feel great. IMO they are no worse than OEM in terms of NVH, but significantly improve the handling and feel of the car. I have also replaced the wishbone bushes with Powerflex, changed the rear diff mount to powerflex and replaced the engine and gearbox mounts with new OEM ones while the front subframe was down.
The car drives better than new and feel amazing.
