I'm sure this is s2forum not audisrs

We all love our cars but it's a bit strong to say on a s2forum saying you don't want an s2 anymore, some have moved on others still love their old I5, there is a place for all cars and other forums for them!

The bottom line is, if you want one, get one.
As much as I still love S2's, the RS4 is miles ahead of it in all ways IMO

This is what now sits on my drive, and I would never have an S2 over it, even if it was highly modified

No theyre not, front discs are £500 a pair, and thats from Audi.
Just another example of how much crap people talk

What other service parts are more expensive than an S2 then?
Yes, a cambelt is about 600 all in, but how often is that done?!
An average oil/filter change etc is no more expensive than any other car

My mate has owned one for 3 years. I suppose a lot depends how many miles you do as to what they cost you to run but when you consider that front disks alone are £800 the price of service parts can mount up if you do a lot of miles as my mate does.

    No, not atall!
Of course there are plenty of urban myths regarding "youve got to remove the engine to do anything", which is actually total ********.
Yes, you have to remove it to change the turbos and a couple of other bits, but thats all.
If you ask Aiden @ Bahnstorm, he has worked on many S2's and RS4's and he says the RS4 is overall easier to work on than an S2!

As people know, Ive had 2x S2, 2x S4 and now an RS4, and over the years Ive spent no more running the B5's than the S2's.
If anything, its fair to say that my first S2 has cost me more in sorting bits than all of the B5's put together!

I think every one has thought at some stage . God knows how much I spent on my car when repairing it after rear ending someone with a tow hitch. I never added it up I know I could of bought a good aby. But it not all about the money is it .

it has crossed my mind too considering in 4 years i have bought 8 cars and sold 3 of them + everything i've invested i could have easily now gone for a second hand RS6 C6...
but then again there's the running cost...
eeeh never mind just keep putting big turbos on everything!!
