The bottom line is, if you want one, get one.
As much as I still love S2's, the RS4 is miles ahead of it in all ways IMO

This is what now sits on my drive, and I would never have an S2 over it, even if it was highly modified

Its impossible to say one is better to drive than another, because you are trying to measure personal choice, and that is impossible.
I enjoy driving my B5's as much as my S2's.

Yes everyday hence everything is available at the right price. I've thought long and hard about just selling up everything and getting something most likely the same as what dest has. But I am not far from finishing mine and the amount its cost me so far and what its worth as a part project means i'd rather finish it, that and the amount of people that keep telling me to finish it, if it wasn't for them it would be gone by now.

I've been in a few s2's and a few s4's/rs4's. My personal opinion is the only s4 that's ever made me want to sell my cars is aiden's.

I have spent more than 40k euros in 5 years....

But I have 3 cars ,lots of spares and pretty enjoyable cars...

With that money I only could buy a new focus rs....stock. or a lancer EVO 9 stock....

So much better like I am

I wouldn't be concerned about the running costs anyway, its not like I don't already spend tons of cash on shiney new bits for my car. I guess I came to the realisation that my car wlll never be worth anything as a car, something with a bit of history / heritage would be. But this isn't really why I own a 23 year old audi coupe. At least I didn't loose 16k in 4 years liek my girlfriend did with her RX8
She did say though that if i bought an RS4 she would be able to sell the S4 and buy a 996 or a 500SL.... its tempting

Just to add in with running costs our 170PD Leon is 450 for Cambelt and water pump but that's new cars for you.

You can't rationalise the cost you spend on cars, in my mind you have to look at it as a hobby. All hobbies cost money and you can never get back what you put in simple.

I dread to think what I have spent in cars, the last project was a polo breadvan and my basic refresh parts were more than the car!! As long as you can afford it then great, I don't have season tickets etc so the Audi is my luxury and also away to relieve my stress. I wouldn't have it if it was my daily but I'm lucky that it's my toy.
