help needed with offset and spacers please ET32

    hello guys,
please can someone help and advise me on what size spacers i will need. i have recently bought some 18x8.5 alloys with an offset of ET32. i am planning on fitting 205 40 18's ?
my suspension is standard at the moment but am going to be fitting h&r kit so expecting it to be 50 or so mm lower.
    cheers

Why would you need spacers with ET32? they are already the right ET although you will need your front arches rolling.

Fitting spacers to that ET will put them beyond the arch

205 tyres on an 8.5J rim? you should be looking at 225 minimum IMO

As long as you're car's not lowered and your shockers are up to scratch you should be fine with ET32, I run ET30 with 225 and don't have any problems with rubbing. That's with Bilsteins and stock springs.

Notice the 8.5J though, 8J i would agree, 8.5J at ET32 = rubbing on outer arch. BBS alloys are notorius for this on the S2

            rubbing

thanks for the input guys so 225 40 18 and get the front arches rolled is the trick then.. they are bbs by the way, i was planning on going lower, will this be possible with the arches done or is it not worth it?

              Got it in on liggy

standard lowering is 30mm to 40mm

your 50mm is going to be really low, I would say 40mm drop at the max

Get the wheels on with the tyres mentioned. It will be pretty easy to see what lowering is achievable whith them on there. To get the optimum lowering coil overs may be required. I run ET32 8x17 bbs's and my kws are wound as low as they go and there is no scrubbage at all.

Those tyres will be seriously stretched, so I don't think they will rub. With 235s on my 8.5 BBS 18s on the coupe I needed a 5mm shim on the front to clear the steering arm. 225s would have cleared. The rear upper arm on the avant is a different animal though..

I run 245/35s on 8.5s ET35 with a 3mm shim. Lowered on H&Rs with zero rubbing, although it must be said my car probably rides 8-10mm higher than an S2 up front due to less weight so maybe that could make the difference
