Road trip spares...what to pack?

I was thinking that you'll need a tow bar & trailerA spare car on the back of a trailer is probably best!
I'm banking on the fact I have all new bushes and joints, all engine pipes are new and samco, most of the engine seals are new and it seems very healthy!
It's the little bits like you've mentioned like the fuel pump will be the problems but to cover all eventualities you'd need a support van Haha
The fact I'll be on Germany most the time may mean spares are easier to find!

. One thing that springs to mind is a Hi-Vis jacket / vest and a warning triangle, I think it's Mandatory for cars to have these on board when travelling in Germany, half decent bottle jack rather than a trolley version to save on space in your trailer

An iPod or some cd's... I once had an 8 hour journey with 1 cd and no radio or other choices... That cd made a great frisbee en route I can tell you. After listening to it 13 times in a row... the silence after was bliss!Comment

Sunglasses, a credit card with decent limit and an ADAC membership card.I'm off to the ring and alps in August in the s2 and starting to think what to take with me.
I'll be taking all fluids and a brake bleed kit but do you reckon anything else would be worth while like brake pads etc but bare in mind nearly everything on my car has been changed and only done 300miles!
Another annoying thing I have is my spare wheel doesn't fit in the boot recess so does anyone have any suggestions or a spare spare wheel as it's not helping the situation!

Seriously get the ADAC card. It's costs ****** all for the cover you get.
For example, my last turbo blew up at the ring last year mid way round.
ADAC are the only company allowed to recover you from the ring (tourist driving only) at no extra cost. They then trailered my car to home garage and paid for first class train tickets for the passengers to get back home in the UK. All for a lot LESS than the AA charge for full European cover. Furthermore, ADAC get the AA to do their UK coverage for them, so in effect it's the best and cheapest cover all in one!!!RS2+ (now sold...)Comment

I have European road recovery..would adac be any more useful?

In which case wheel bearings for the trailer
BTDT
I've got 16" Avus wheel with winter tyre you can borrow but I'm not really local.
Insurance, my policy with Carole Nash covers me for accident and breakdown in Europe
Check your small print if going on the 'Ring.

What to pack
All of the above are good. If you are going to work on you own car during a road trip then work wear such as gloves (rubber for the greasy stuff & leather for everything else), coveralls to keep you good clothes in order, maybe another pair of shoes too. I tend to wear out the tops of my shoes at track day events changing tires & brake pads & such. A kneeling pad or knee pads are worth packing. Rainsuits are cheap & easily packed. A good hat too for keeping the weather at bay & a cap that will allow you to rest your head on the ground if you find yourself crawling under said vehicle (I hate crap getting in my hair). A good flashlight/electric torch, rechargeable & LED. I carry a rechargeable electric impact for wheel bolts on road trips. A properly sorted tool kit for what you might encounter will not take up much space. Jumper cables, tow strap, small section on electrical wire, bottled water, list of important phone #, separate from the cellphone you carry, towel to dry off with.... It is all a matter of how long you will be away from the comfort/safety of home & how much you want to carry. Find yourself a proper sized container that will fit in your car & fill it up with what you may need.

when we went round europe a couple of years back, i took:
trolley jack & stands (jack was used within 6 miles of Calais! and twice after that)
sparks, multimeter/fuse tester +fuses
p/s line and seals (blew one before the Ring previously
)
hammer, spanners, screwdrivers, torque wrench/breaker bar
all belts
hoses
spring compressors
top mounts x 2
castle nut's and adaptor
lambda
rear and front anti-rollbar and bushes
drop link 1 x front 1 x rear
brake pads and retaining pins plates for the 996's
diff seals
umm....think that was about it
you'll need spare bulb kit...vests IN THE CAR not the boot, breath test kit for France now
etc
Cheers
