Big money RS2.

The car was priced on what i was happy to sell her for, regardless of what i have spent, regardless of what what time has been laboured, regardless of the rare NOS parts I had sourced from Frank Sytner's Audi connections or my dads old chums at Ingolstadt, I decided that if someone wanted her for £20,000, then i would be happy! It boils my p**s that some of you scrap/dismantle these lovely cars, you should be f*****g ashamed of yourselves, I bought my RS2's because I love them, I love the uniqueness of them, I love them because my dad (God Rest His Soul) had sold these beasts back in the 90's for VW Audi Newcastle, and I remember him taking me down the A1 at a ridiculous speed when I was only 14, in what was at the time was the fastest thing since sliced bread! As mentioned, it's worth what someone will pay.
However, all the nice modifications aside, it is a lot when it's got 149k miles.
The ~£30k red one, although still ridiculously high, I can see the logic if you are after a genuine low mileage, although debatable if low mileage equates to condition, but for a pedantic stickler, you can't buy mileage on the clock back.
I suspect this one is being priced according to monies spent, which of course anyone can factor in on a car, but does not mean you will get it...
On that basis, Jamo, yours must be worth £40k
And other nice modded cars also, Sonics, Ross, Newsh's, Gregs, Mark H, Dougals...
Happy driving
I did not need the money, I did not want to sell her, but because I sell cars for a living, and that week was the week of Autocar's RS2 four page spread, then it was probably the best time to sell her for a while, and the best time to sell something is when you don't want to sell something, because you can take it or leave it!................... I decided to leave it !
The only person to give an unbiased opinion of my car on this forum, or to value it at the time of the ad would be someone who had actually seen, driven and inspected her. The car is worth what someone is prepared to spend..............lol........I would not give an underwrite or an opinion of any car over the phone, regardless of a photo/s I had seen etc, so its really irrelevant isn't it?
Rant Over ! lolComment

Egg F*****G Sactly!those saying price is too high............
**** off
go and buy one that colour, that spec, that clean, in that condition
end of!
other cars, cheaper, yes.
and you CANNOT compare an RS4 to an RS2, the numbers built and available are uncomparable! work off percentages and you will see RS2`s command and demand higher prices for rare and cherished cars like this
just my 2p worth

Rob, I could not have put in better context myself! Why winge when its helping our car prices?
My main business is classic cars. The market is mental. Has been for the last 3 years.
DB5s are 400k now. Everything with character and rarity is going mad. Pre impact 911 are 70 to 100k.7/8 years ago I could get one for 10k!
If I was selling my RS2 it would have to be a similar price. I looked at one for a customer a year ago for 19k and it was no where near as good as mine.
We have mostly all had our cars a good while. Reap the enthusiasm we have lavished. Don't poo poo it!

You are probably the only person that has had a ride and can appreciate the 'solid-ness' of my car, although since last year my brakes are awful and the bumpers need re-finishing! lolWhat a stunning example
,always admired this car when it popped up on the forum, fair play to the owner for believing in his cars real value too.Considering the mods, and the clear attention 'OE mintness' with so many recent parts, you can tell its a cherished RS. GLWTS.Comment

With the H&R Springs, when on full tilt and hopping across the millitary roads of northumberland, on a corner, the front arch was mighty close to the tyres with 245's on! I dont drive very slow on these roads...........as you know! lolComment

That £500 Paint job did make me laugh, a full set of clips, screws, hangers, 3M, bungs, Wing Bolts, Door Lock Guides, seals and masking tape probably cost that! lol£3000 for repaint... not from my workshop.. Thats two weeks. No way can you get a perfect job for that. When I painted my UR 12 years ago the paint alone was £650!
Bare shell paint on an Aston Martin is 20K. Thats just the paint. No repairs no dissasembly or reassembly.
As for saying in current climate... Its never been so mental! the money dudes are just buying special cars. No property or banking it. They are investing in cars. where I used to work they bought a DB6 mk2 for 110k last august and sat on it until last month and sold it for 255K!
Don't knock the very strong market. Its good for us!

Poor fella he'd be gutted to see this thread
Hope he sells it for his asking price. Someday one of yall will want to sell or have to sell lets hope you get what you want for it too
I personally when ready to purchase my S2 and RS2 it's gonna have to have low mileage and original paint... And I'll pay top dollar for it. These things are disappearing and folks will be crying when the prices double. Evo M's are in abundance and still claim 20k plus. Im very surprised how slowly the original S and RS cars are catching up to the classic marque market in cost. Germany an original S is claiming 10keuro at minimum and they aren't even low mileage.
Too bad about the salted winters in the UK but boy I love RHD... and again Im a strange fella there were less of em built anyway. Hope by the time Im ready to purchase I don't get the high sticker that will come when folks start making extra pocket change again. More sellers than buyers market these days fellas
Mate, im not gutted, im laughing my a*s off! lol This has made my night! lolComment
(I originally sold him the wheels a few years ago....)
