    Rs2 homefry

Anyone else running this setup ?

Goes stupidly fast but fuel economy is a bit of an issue !

I have had the rs setup on my old coupe and that was running mrc chips and I could easily get 30mpg on a run and about 23 round town.

The homefry I haven't tested on a run yet but currently I'm averaging 11 mpg round town and that's only occasionally if I boot it

    What's everyone else getting ?

    23 mpg in town?What town,one on motorway?
11 seems a little to much, but just a little.Aprox 17 mpg will be most of you can get from this engine in town.I mean short trips where engine never gets to operating temp, lots of 30min for 20km.In a small town with no trafic 14-15 mpg will be ideal but hard to get.
    Do you have wideband afr?
    Best regards,

Is this the rs2 injectors doing this? or will a homefries stock s2 be the same? (if it is you will see he s2 in the for sale section quite soon)

Sit at a steady 55-60 in a chipped S2 and you can get 30+ mpg driving smoothly. I have done 100 miles of B road at 30mpg filled tank to filled tank. Same road driven with enthusiasm can easily burn over half a tank of fuel.

Commuting my S2 averaged 19-21mpg, boot it and well you know..........

I recently saw 24mpg which was a record. Previously I consistently averaged 22mpg with homefried ABY and custom mapped K26/MTM/Garrett hybrid.

My increase came after unblocking the breather system and MAF wire and contact cleaning.

I've never really been on an economy run as my right foot always gets the bettr of me!

My car is 380 HP tuned RS2 spec, I have a 40 mile journey to work
I give it a good few blasts past traffic,(everything in my way) and it still
manages 21mpg. If I take it easy all the way to work with no boost
then I can get 26-27 mpg. I think if you are getting low mpg cruising at
fuel efficient speeds then it's probably due to you needing new piston rings
and a quick hone and lap the valves back on there seats so they seal
properly. As mentioned before a blocked breather system won't do you any favours
              in the mpg game either.
My RS2 chips/ECU mods were done by Dmitri (prj on here).

I get about the same (21mpg average) on Homefried s2 mostly commuting 8km, 20 minute trips.

Guys 30 mpg is easy on an s2 home fry in fact on 1 trip of 800 miles I achieved 34mpg! That was 70 all the way mind.

It's the rs2 chipset I'm on about I would of thought it a tad more economical ! Bearing in mind I'm no stranger to this current spec,my old rs2 spec coupe is more economical then a normal s2 mrc and home fry setup! I have had them all !

Perhaps as ever it's best to get it live mapped as these are just generic chips but knowing me il stick with it as the power is just stupid

I told you the rs2 homefry wasn't the best.
The normal s2 homefry is good but the rs2 one ain't the best.

Just either get some chips off spink or prj and enjoy more power, better economy etc.

On a side note - stop worrying about the fuel bill, fill it up and go out and enjoy it. It won't be long before cars are taxed out of being affordable

I got quite good mpg when my RS2 was on V-stream homefry, liked it a lot.

                            homefries

my car would not run correct with homefries rs2 chip it even failed the mot emissions.
car runs to rich not a good set up , now running mrc 1.8 bar chip and drives excellent
dont care about fuel if i did would have bought a diesel , but i still manage 19 mpg around town driving and thats always a quick drive home

Got the chips along with the manifold at a bargain price from a forum member who lives close so it was a no brainer really

Didn't know spink did chips ?
