I did that once on a beetle. Counted all the receipts and when I got to £18k I got scared and gave up on the rest of the pile of receipts. Oddly enough it's now mostly rust split off the pan and sat in my garage.
I learnt at that point never to add up receipts again so I'm not going to do it for the Audi lol
It's almost easier for me to work out what I haven't done on the car, pretty much the only original parts are the shell, petrol tank and doors, boot carpet, dash and wiring (some of it), rear lights, drive shafts and hubs, 3 of the legs, the block and crank and flywheel. In 9 years I've also doubled the mileage to 250,000
It's on its 3rd gearbox (original 5spd and 2 6spds), 3 PS pumps, 2 heads, 3 turbos, 2 sets of In and Ex manifolds, 3 remaps (another to come) 2 cam changes, 2 central locking pumps, 2 rads, 2 interiors, 4 sets of fronts seats, 2 trim changes .. Just about to have the dash out to change the heater box and ECU loom and do the heater matrix for the second time and go 5 coils..... Also got a new radio to fit
Bought my ABY mid May this year, so far I've stripped and replaced interior, headlining carpet and everything else, sent steering wheel off to be re leathered. New leather on gearknob, replaced gearstck linkage, new rads, serviced, new sensors ,new expansion bottle, de- crapped engine bay of 18 years of crap , re sealed rear lights, added rear opening windows and loom, new bottom door rubbers, new ellipsoid glass and rubbers on lights, new fogs, new front grill ...
Now it's up on stands and gonna have a peek underneath.... Got a stainless to fit at some point ..and alloys to refurb.. And I haven't even driven it on the roads yet !
HAHA what is it with us , got mine in december ish driven it 10 miles .....
Apart from 9 months off the road cos of poverty/stupidity(two other vehicles on road),my 3B has been my 'daily' -I've done 28,000mls in three and a half years...and I've not yet got to the huge spend yet- just small to moderate..mmm will good sense rear its, er,sensible head, and will I sell it on before the 'abyss '?? Watch this space (between my ears!)

Sounds like mine, and both sound like Trigger's brush, original except for a couple of brush heads and a couple of handles.

I too get rid of all receipts I don't need, saves a lot of when coming across them and realising how I've been with it all
Swapped ABY engine in
Mapped it.
Swapped all suspension parts to S2 after Galvanising and/or painting each bit.
Poly or solid bushes on everything
Porsche 996 front brakes
S2 rears
Evo 4 recaro seats
Stainless side exit for that proper group B noise!
