    S2 or RS2???

    Hi Guys,

I've been away for a while from the S2 fraternity, but i feel i need the 5 pot sound again.

My dilemma is i'm not sure whether to go for one again, due to parts availability and the fact the milages are getting high (150k ish) on most.

My last S2 Avant was used as a daily car and was going to bankrupt me,with the fuel costs.Since selling the S2 my situation has changed now and i have another vehicle as my daily and a Mk2 Golf Rallye as a toy.I would need to sell the Rallye to make space for the S2/RS2 in the garage.

Anyway thats my dilemma, but i have spotted a nice looking RS2 for sale but it is in Scotland which is around 350 miles away from me.Just wondered if anyone knows the car or has some or indeed any information on it? REG no. M965 TJW.

Also, could someone confirm parts availability for the RS2 and approx. cost for service items i.e. brake pads and discs, oil and filters etc.

Any help and advice much appreciated.

    Cheers Andy

For the most part it's very similar to an S2 apart from brake pads and discs. Bumpers I've heard are quite expensive though in case of an accident . I find Pete at Quattro Corner always has anything you need really

          Great thanks.

Yes,i've read a few threads about the brakes, where people have tried other disc and pad combinations other than the original parts as they are very expensive.

Anyone now anything about this RS2... REG no. M965 TJW-RS blue

Seen it up for sale for a while, at least a couple of months, hard to tell but to me it looked like it might have been well taken care of.

If you're keeping it standard RS2, if you plan mods S2

I was looking at Porsche 911, S2 or another TVR. Drove an RS2 as someone had one near me and I now have one! Parts ain't cheap and Audi delete most of them but you can get them if you look hard enough

Thanks for the warm welcome back...I see your fairly local to me too,do you have an S2 or RS2?

I still love my Rallye,as you know they are also a rare beast. It will be a real shame to let it go,but i can't keep it as well as the potential Audi purchase. As only enough space for one in the garage
It would have to be the right car to make me part with the Rallye...Anyway here's a photo of the Rallye, hope you like it.

Its a 91 coupe in panther black. Running kw suspension porsche 996 323 mm brakes. Full blsck leather interior with carbon trim lenso bsx wheels with all new tyres. New windscreen etc etc. Always garaged and 2nd car.140 k everything wirks as it shouldi have changed all boodt hoses for roose ones. And fitted a short shift . It is legalky de catted and has a panel filter. The engine runs sweet and never misses a beat or uses any fluids. I have spent a fortune on her but could be tempted for a rallye. There are pics of my build on here under new s2 owner. Oh and best of all she is water tight, which is rare.
