I agree. If someone lacks the passion to convey where lies the uniqueness of a car that is so special to justify asking so much about it, either by means of high quality photos or detailed descriptions or some other way then they're not passionate about the car. And if you're not passionate about this car then it will not be meticulously maintained. So it won't worth this much.Comment

My cq is worth £7-8k in bits. **** all as a working car. And it works better than most.
As some folk now I'm looking for an nice condition S2 coupe, actually I'd prefer not to get a standard car. I'm prepared to spend good money on the right car, but I've seen a lot and truely good ones come up very rarely.
Keeping them standard is hard work, parts are expensive and dare I say it they are just not much fun in stock form. Ultimately though a stock car is worth more money, but only as that's what collectors value. Real enthusiasts aren't like collectors, they like to drive their cars. So as always a cars worth what a buyer wants to pay, and all buyers are different

I genuinely laughed out loud AND showed the pictures to my wife when I saw the state of the engine bay of the the £10k one!
These adverts always generate a good discussion about prices. I think coupe prices are slowly on the up, but if you love your car it's not really an issue if you intend to keep it. My kids are starting to love the S2 as much as me and even call it the "special car"!
Sadly they are often worth more in bits which is a crying shame, but I don't blame people from breaking an average S2 if it makes them more money, we have all got to eat.The Perfectionist

Why the funk didn't you buy that aqua blue S2? The price was right? It looked immaculate?Comment

I also think that its down to what a buyer is prepared to pay for what he is seeing there and then? Its hard to put a value on what is now a classic and if you are not an Audi enthusiast then you don't have a clue what a S2 is really do you? Or yeah its a sukked Audi A2 pmsl!!!! Now how much is mine worth mine is a standard S2 with S8 alloys both sub frames sorted head gasket sorted mega history file koni shocks and is immaculate a part from a few bubbles appearing on rear arch which will be sorted this year and the interior is immaculate and the air con works!! for me to part with this car that I've had for nearly 15 years it has to stupid money and I would guess a number of owners who have owned these special cars for a while would feel the same?? I genuinely think mine is worth £8500 to £9000Comment

This is summed up quite easily. S2 owners think their cars are worth a certain price and prospective buyers think it is something else entirely. Both are probably wrong.
It is not a Focus or a Qashqai. There is no real world demand for it. The buying audience is tiny. Without having any intrinsic value, it is merely worth what someone is prepared to pay for it on the day. If that is a good price, then there might well be a sale. If it isn't, the owner will continue to chase power and continue to put right the increasing wrongs with the car, so that he can continue to smile (a lot)Comment
