what i do is keeping a spare battery in the ashtray of the car. Not sure how I would undo the bolt on the remote though the siren is screaming. Probably should carry a small screwdriver in the trunk - i have big ones only.

when going on a longer trip i give a 2nd set of keys (incl 2nd remote) to whoever is traveling with me.
