Thanks for posting. Confirms some of the criticisms that I made on at least one of the designs.

Bought one of Terry's pulleys for my 3B and It has given me peace of mind as the OE one I took off did have cracks around the keyway. And how cheap is this small but vital part in comparison to an engine rebuild. Anyone
with an I5 should buy this vital bit of kit

These type of gears have been used for years and years without problems, so quite pointless to speculate about belt failures. I'm not 100% sure but this may be Tommis earlier version, bought from Kalske years ago.

Sure. Live and learn. Too soon old. Too late smart.
Personally, I thing the OE pulley is just fine (replace when doing timing belt), provided you never touch the crank bolt with any air tools.
The latest billet ones with the correct tooth groves and alignment was not available (or I didn't know about it) during the previous thread. So live and learn.RS2'd 93 UrS4 5 spd sedan

Stock pulley is fine if the main bolt is torqed the right way with proper crank locking tool. I'm running stock gear in my current ghetto engine.
But the thing with these steel/cromo gears is to avoid the worst with an build expencive engine.Last edited by Thuppu; 1 November 2015, 22:43.

well i have had no complaints of belt wear or any wear issues on my design pully and some of those cars are running big power and also have done good mileage .people like to criticise without any real knowledge.it seems when they want to sell their own stuff everyone elses becomes lower quality .Comment
