    Gggrrrrr these kin cars !!!

Been showing the car some love and it's running better than it ever has ffs, starts on the button every time..... Then, jumped in it down the post office came out jumped in and will it fire ??? Cranking lots of juice ( and petrol ,).. Nowt .. Grr. Good job it's down the village and a walk cross country home .

Tried locking and unlocking as thought it may be the immobilizer but no joy. Surely can't be crank sensor as I replaced that few years ago gen bosch one too !!

Joy! Sound like an alarm/immobilizer issue to me. Hope you get it started soon!

Fuel pumps and G40 cam sensors will fail on you with little or NO warning.

Pull the DTC codes (if any. G28 will be a false positive)

She's got a nice shiney rear subframe in the garage waiting to go on and if she starts playing up she ain't having it !!!

If fuel pump, this DIY will provide you with some guidance:

I have added info about the avant and recent experiences that I had replacing the FP in my 98 C4 avant that are applicable to the UrS cars (sedans and avants) and the C4 100/A6 sedans and avants. There are also working hyperlinks (in BLUE) to more info, where appropriate.

                  Hints on pulling codes: http://www.s2forum.com/forum/showthr...ht=codes+learn

The fact that the engine cooled down and it fired implies (to me) that the issue is the G40 Cam Sensor getting flaky. Blink Code is 2113 or DTC code 00515 Hall Sender (G40)

Have you told her she has a nice shinny rear subframe to be fitted. Maybe you should and all will be well again.

Has it got an aftermarket immob or alarm? If so I would bet on the fuel pump cutoff circuit going bad

Yep, that sounds like an after-market immobiliser is playing up and cutting power to fuel pump, what system is on your car?

Hi guys yep did have a cobra alarm few years ago but stripped it out as no good. I do still have the little grunt down by the petrol cap go when I lock the door tho , lol so factory immob I guess . .? I have a blade fob kit to do remote central locking that I've had a few years and intend to fit at some point ... But never got around to doing..

Pulled codes 515 and 561 hall sender and mixture adaptation ., oh and the standard G28 .

But started 2/3 times fine. Amazed it's the g40 playing up ?, As I say it's not that old

I still haven't found the time to fix mine yet. I suspect a relay has gone as when I tried to pull codes I couldn't as the Ecu wasn't getting power
