Still kicking myself for not picking up a 964 while they were still ''cheap''.
996 seems to be at the bottom now, they will increase in value, especially the TT which is held in very high regard due to the bombproof Metzger engine.
Too bad cars require so much space and at least some work/service, or I would own some classic Porsches and possibly a 360 Modena as an investment.
In addition, I develop a bond with my cars so I'm not able to sell them
A 993 C4 would be nice, though, as the RS2 is basically a hybrid of that and the 80 Avant. I have the 80 Avant and the RS2, so the only thing missing is the 993.
The 993 would feel slow, but that is not so critical with the almost excessive fastness of the RS2 at the moment.

Definitely an S2, coupe or avant :

S2 coupe over the last 5 years : more than double in value (LHD)

        S2 avant, value quietly increasing...

other option for me would be a Beemer E46 M3, one of the best chassis around..and that 6 cylinder, mmm
        S2 's and oldtimers

          Land Rover series 1
Land Rover 90 v8 County Station Wagon
Porsche 911 996 3.4 manual coupe (early ones better ie up to 1999 better due to dual bearing IMS design)
          Renault Clio v6
          Renault Megane R26r
          Honda Integra type R
Bmw M3 E46 - better if the CS version (they have CSL wheels and steering rack)
          Bmw M3 E36 GT
          Mercedes 190e Cosworth
          Renault 5 GT turbo

Yes, agree with the 500 E, great Q car but interest in them is rising and so are prices. LHD only but still a great choice for the future and no shortage of parts..

Other option would be Porsche 928, especially manual. A bit delicate on the electrics but another under rated car, IMHO !.

Porsche 914, some came with a flat 6 and would be a great drive...

            968, club sport...

Citroen SM ? Lancia Thema ????

RS2 is still hard to beat !

A good M car has historically been a sound investment. The e46 m3 is highly regarded as the best variant along side the e30, and no doubt prices of good ones will reflect this in years to come.

Absolutely. Check out the German sites. Prices have skyrocketed over the past year.

Hand-built by porsche before and alongside the RS2 for a moment - great cars to drive, I had one.
