    insurance

Hi guys, my insurance is coming up for renewal at the start of July, at the moment it shows £900, while it might not seem a lot, that's an increase of nearly £200 over last year. I'm 23 with 3 years NCB and have had license for 5 years.

Can anyone suggest any companies to try? Also would be great if i could get some kind of agreed value policy because let's be honest, if anything happens they'll give me a tenner and write her off.

    Tia for any help

1993 I think. Classic car insurance companies I've seen want driver to be over 25, won't give you NCB and have limited mileage which doesn't work for me as she's a daily driver.

I have just renewed my insurance and I am in similar boat as you are. 22, 1 NCB, 4 years driving. Tried calling up all the companies, doing quotes online, searching for classic insurance etc. This year Direct Line was the best for me, even though it was shocking £1600 . Long story short got rear ended and they still made a claim on my name, however i did not loose my NCB ( 1 year )
Heard people are talking well about direct line.

I previously used Sky Insurance on a heavily modified car. They were good when listening to what modifications you had and giving a reasonable quote. Much better than wasting your time with Adrian Flux, despite all the nonsense that they peddle about being run by car enthusiasts for enthusiasts etc.

Yes they do although I never exercised this option that was offered to me.

Sky only do agreed on heavily modified cars. I asked them what's classed as heavily modified, and they made it out to be stuff like big power supras and skylines.

Even for a clean genuine example they won't do an agreed valuation. They claim they go off the market value as they're enthusiasts too. Also by having an agreed valuation you're hindering the value of your car if it suddenly rises, so they like to check the going rate instead.

Well that's the story they gave me every time I've tried to swindle an agreed valuation

I want agreed value simply because market value for my car is most likely about £500 if that. I have about £5k in it, and it would be nice to get atleast some of the spent money back if **** hits the fan.

I'll call them all up and see what they can do for me.

                          Cheers lads

Try these; https://www.lifesure.co.uk/insurance/car/policy/ I have everything insured by them and they are great to deal with. They are a Broker but use companies you have heard of, Axa and so on. Recently we had an accident, not fully sorted out yet but you get the feeling they are on your side not the Insurance company's.
Quotes in my experience are usually good, renewals negotiable, to a degree anyway, so they are worth a try.
Let me know how it goes as I can't understand why more people aren't using them, I have been with them for bout 10 years and find it hard to change
