I think you could like all 3 sports to be honest - i dont have a problem with drifting but to be honest i'd much rather see it in stage or on track as part of the drivers 'craft', not just about hanging out the rear.....reminds me too much of clarkson to be honest and i get a bit bored of watching that on TG - so what, the ar*e hangs out on a rear wheel drive car with the traction control switched off...whoopiedoo

The rice brigade will be asking for a track to be built for the drifter meetings right outside the local McD so they can park up, drop their litter outside the car door and then watch each other in their novas and ka's wheel spin the life out of a set of 14's they'd be much better off saving a few grand on plastic to stick on their cars and go for a proper driving skills day...if you can drive a crappy car fast and in control and easily embarass a faster one, but not with 3 tons of wings-n-sh*te stuck to it acting like an airbrake.

I went to watch 10 cars flown over from japan fight it out drifting inches away from one another at over 100mph through differnt transitions with only one collision throughout the day if anyone can say theres nout special bout that then what can i say!!

could say your a nob or a ****** but that wouldnt be sporting!!!!!

that irish corolla was great to watch 160bhp car against a 300bhp car just to show its not the car its the driver!!

why are people fitting torsen rear diffs?

oh **** sorry forgot - so they can "drift" round roundabouts

what do white line anti roll bars do?

well fook me they dont get the **** end out do they? cause that might be seen as drifting so make sure you dont fit one

I'm a big drifting fan, have been for some years, don't know why people have a problem with it.

@ Wab - I am sure that most people know that stock S2 handling tends heavily to understeer, hence trying to find a balance is a totally legitimate pursuit! I think most people are fitting stiffer FARBs as well as RARBs?

Half of the art of suspension tuning is finding the balance, hence a car that understeers can benefit from increased rear stiffness - that has nothing to do with pushing to the illogical extreme of excessive oversteer?

If your car had too much front brake bias, you would logically endeavour to move the balance rearwards. If a car with downforce had too much on the front, you'd take a bit off it to move the balance rearwards. So, if the car was showing a tendency to understeer, you'd look to move that balance rearwards. Stiffer rear suspension (springs, ARB) would make a lot of sense!

I don't think there is anything "nobbish" about that!

I think that the culture associated with the cars that are used in Drifting is what people don't like or it is a major factor. The whole jap scene is very different to what we're used to on this forum. ie major Chav.

I love driving the S2 on gravel as it is just so easy to drift and controllable when doing it. On the road, the mild manners of the S2 are a help more often than they are a hinderance but we always want what we don't have. It's human nature init like. Greener grass etc.
