Importing SPM Rods from Sweden?

Hi guys,

Sorry for the lack of updates. After a hellish 19 days of 12-hr shifts without a break, I toko a bit of time off...

The group buy is definitely still on. There's been a bit of rotation as to who is in and who's not, but we still have plenty enough to get the cheapest group-rate SPM will offer.

I'll be home tonight, and I'll provide an update tomorrow as per who's in, who's where etc and then you can point out where I'm wrong

@Anyone OUTSIDE of the EU: IBAN transfer is required, you will not pay tax on the amount. You will be responsible for any duties/taxes incurred by your local customs. Rods will be shipped directly to you.

@Anyone INSIDE the EU, not the UK: IBAN transfer is requierd, you will pay 25% VAT included in the transfer unless you can provide your own VAT number (in which case you will pay the non-tax value). Then you will be responsible to pay your own import duties, at your countries rate. Rods will be shipped directly to you.

@Anyone IN THE UK: IBAN tranfer as above to SPM, or payment to me via transfer, cheque, cash or PO. I will need your VAT number if you want the rods shipped directly, or you must be willing to pay the 25% tax on transfer. I'm hoping in the next 7 days to sort out a 17.5% tax rate, but please be prepared to pay the 25% if I can't pull it off or provide your own vat details.

CUT-OFF date for this one is 3RD MARCH. You must be able to make payment by then or very shortly after, please PM me if this causes a problem or with any questions.

When would the deadline for saying yes be? I do want some but have to find out if i can use works VAT number ...

Friday 3rd is when I plan on having final numbers; if we don't put a deadline on then it'll never happen! There shouldn't be a problem if one or two want to add an order after this date, but if the 'main' order has already shipped then it'll be at teh disgression of SPM as to whether they'll honour the group-buy price, and you may end up paying a bit more shipping.

Can ANYONE who is planning on being a part of this buy, who has not contacted me regarding VAT numbers, please send me a PM to let me know if you have a VAT number you'd like to use for your order. Note, this VAT number will have to be provided before your order is shipped (or you pay tax to SPM).

Just to clarify, Sten Parner has assured me that he'd have stock at the end of the month for about 10 orders without issues, I've since told him to expect more orders and he's not voiced any concern. They regularly shift 50 rods in a month so it's not a problem.

@Billman, thanks for your post, just need to know who is paying with a VAT number at the moment; you can provide that to SPM when you arrange payment so no worries about it for now.

I want to buy some rods, my own vat number.

Ross, can u confirm do these come with arp bolts or is it 5 rods only?

Does anyone know the absolute minimum engine work needed to be done when these rods are fitted and how long it takes? (bearings, other gaskets, balancing...)
Im just wondering cuz i have very liitle money and there are soon gonna been loads of us with new rods to fit... some kind of group fitting arrangement perhaps??
Either by recommendation ...or if anyone on the forum has this kind of expertise?
