The rods come with ARP bolts is what I've been told by SPM.

Regarding the work needed to fit these rods, it's not much extra work if you're going to have the engine in pieces - but overall it's a big job. Hence, mine won't be fitted until I have my bearings changed and head gasket done. As far as balancing, I've been advised both ways to whether it's neccesary for a full crank rebalance (assuming that the rods are all balanced); I for one will be having my engine balanced as I understand the benefits are quite substantial and I'd also like to be on the safe side...

I'm not going to make a recommendation as to any extra work needed either way so it's each to his own.

    Cheers

Haven't heard back from the following:

        SAL_S2
        DAXYZ
        JADE
        URS4

If that's you, and you wanted in on the first round, then I NEED to hear from you by noon GMT (my lunch break ). Or I'll be assuming you're not wanting any rods this time round.

FYI, we have 11 in the first buy (possibly a few more by morning) so plenty to ensure we get max. discount.

Currently 9 have registered interest for the second buy; assuming nobody drops out that's already enough to get the same price again. However, shipping will go up slightly as Sten has subsidised it slightly this time but won't repeat that. Increase will be a case of a few £££ / about 5EUR so nothing to worry about.

I've got details of all who expressed interest in the buys and will contact next month regarding the No.2 Group buy; in the mean time any questions... you know where I'm at

I'll keep the thread updated as per how the buys goes.

        Cheers

            FYI
I'm building an engine for my friend. It'll have SPM rods.

They weight 590g including the bolts but without big end bearings.
AFAIK they're Eagles. Rumors say SPM makes the volvo and saab conrods by themselves and others are Eagles. Rumors.

The set seems to be all within 2 grams. My scale is a bit crappy so I had to make several weightings and calculate averages...

The other good Swedish rod manufacturer AutoVerdi weights ~575g each (VAG 144mm rods).

The eagle dont make 158 mm 23mm rods for audi engines and as far as i know there are no other rodes that fit the Audi engine! But maybe i am wrong!
