    R.i.p. S2 :-(

    All,

"Project 400" came to a spectacular end tonight. At the moment I'm distraught, all banged up and bruised to hell but the pride will take the hardest hit. Just got back from A&E, under 24-hr surveillance, took out my neighbours wall, and the plod are all over this one.

Problem is from the convo my brother had with the police I've been branded with the "boyracer gets what he deserves" iron and they'll be hoping to take me to the cleaners to make an example... the one witness wasn't symapthetiic - i passed his bmw with some speed (straight, wide NSL) so I imagine in his eyes it was deserved. The neighbour was aparrently going mental but I don't remember much between "oh ****" and returning from x-ray, about 4hrs apart...

Sad thing is, it was literally 30yds from my house, i came in bit quick and hit hard on the 'stop pedal', the back knifed round, and i hit sideways into a pretty sturdy brick wall.

Not lookin for sympathy, just any advice from BTDT as to how to deal with police and insurance (Flux). I could just do with a bit of support as to what happens next coz in my 5 years I'd never previously had an accident.

Cheers all, and sorry to those who didn't get to see the car in it's glorified state. Dreading post-S2 life,

    Cheers

As for being branded a boy racer there is no way round that at all, if the plod have made up their mind in these stakes then that is all done, you need to show that your car is your pride and joy, you love the audi heritage within the car, keep what is said to minimum but be very explicit in your answers at the same time... Also be very polite!! They WILL push for answers that will throw you off track.... Stick to what you know and that is the love of the car and things like that... You are not a boy racer you are a respectable young man with a passion for Quattro vehicles. Would they brandish myself a boy racer if I had and Accident probably yes!! WOuld they brandish Jamo as a Boy racer if he did???? You tell me.... Age has nothing to do with the branding iron as we are all big boys in our toys..... (words from a copper who has had a few accidents herself!!)

Bit of a shock reading that!

How well do you/did you get on with your neigbour? A conversation with him may give you an idea of the full view the police are taking (i.e. the statement he made).

Hope this works out anyway as best it can, somebody else on here will be much more aware of the legal side of things.

Sorry to hear about the accident, and I hope that no one was too badly hurt. Im guess this happened in a residential area in a 30mph limit and will probably going to court?

            Were you adequately insured?

One thought, i hope you have advised the insurers of all the mods to your car, plod more than likely will be taking it apart if they feel that you have been reckless. Sorry to hear of your bad night and hope it gets sorted out

doubt they'd be doing that unless it involved a serious injury/death. Too much cost otherwise.
They'd be able to roughly work out what speeds from tyre marks on the road.
Was it icy round by you last night? It was down here. Could be that you hit a patch of ice which caused the back end to flick out. That could be your saving grace.

No advice I'm afraid, just some sympathy. Like someone else said we are just boys with our toys and I'm sure most of us are gulity of playing with them at times when we should know better (I know I am). It might seem like the end of the world now but it is just a car and a licence. As long as your alright life goes on

No Advice ether sorry Ross - but lots of sympathy. Really sad to hear that we all know how much work you put in to that project.

Hope you make a stable recovery.

                    All the best.

Sh*t Ross, i hope your ok mate. Bad news about the car

Don't think there is too much you can do about the cops really, maybe something along the lines as Coxy has said. I'm sure once they interview you they might have a beter idea that your NOT a boy racer!!

I know how long and how much effort you went to to get the car to that stage not to mention the money I hope everything goes well for you mate. Keep in touch,

                      Regards,

                      Chris
                      Cheers,

                          Hey Ross,

I'm really sorry to read what's happened to you... But I am glad that you're allright !
I sincerely hope this doesn't mean the end of your S2 and that you'll be able to repair it...

I'll never forget some of the turns and the very impressive level of grip that I experienced in the back seat of your coupe whilst on the Nurburgring...

I'll be looking to experiencing them again soon with you !

Hang in there ! What doesn't kill, makes you wiser ! :mischeif:

As for the Police, play it simple and say it was just a mistake. Everyone makes one sooner or later !

                          Take care !
