I have seen my speedo hit 165 about 4/5 times and once (Coming back from changing the wobbly propshaft in Chester) i peeled off onto the A174 and went for broke and hit an indicated 168---but why do i want more?????

Absolutely standard S2 - ~160mph downhill (Speedo way out I guess. Circumference 8% less than 235/35/19's)

19" RS6 rimmed S2 - 155mph on the flat (speedo calibrated against GPS - spot on)

Standard ZX12R + Akrapovic Ti Evolution - 197mph timed through lights (More times than I care to remember. Bloody thing just won't go any faster.)

I'd love to see how fast mine would go but would either want to try it out on a runway (brunty springs to mind) or on an Autobahn.

What is the S2 like at 150mph+? Is it stable?
At 120 mine felt like like a tank, just wondered if that continued??

I'm in the same boat as you!

The fastest I have been in mine was at castle combe. With a decent exit from the corner onto the final straight I was getting a reading of 120mph on the speedo, I'm not entirely sure how accurate that was though but it felt bloody fast!

M4 6.10am in the morning in the middle of summer.
A1M 6.30am on a bank holiday Monday
M4 11.45 on a clear summer full moon.

You just have to pick your times carefully and if needs be do a recce first.

I can count on one hand how many times I have been over 140mph in my S2... (It is bloody stable too )

I had an empty stretch of motorway the day at 1am, 145mph going strong in 5th, decide to change up to 6th and when I engage the gear I still feel a slight kick from the turbo! Fantastic. Got scared at 150 when my car suddenly changed course by half a lane so backed of slowly and eased back to 100ish. Stock car btw, on S6 wheels... and she had more to go for sure!

Whats incredible is the 80-130 acceleration for "only" 230bhp and the quiet ease with which it cruises at 130mph + (not that i do that very often!)

Going down to the french alpes on the 27th dec. 7-9hrs in an S2 in france, on my own. Petrol is your friend, water makes you weak!

Mine topped out at the end of the scale, 280kmh (173mph), about 260 (162) on the GPS.

I've done same a couple of times. I've got to the stop on the speedo, then continued accelerating a little more before I had to brake for a corner. I found the stop at bang on the 280 km/h mark. I did carry on a little further, but only to ~6500rpm in 5th IIRC and 163 GPS.

I would love to risk it, but I think I might be inclined to save it for the autobahn next year.

I should be travelling over to check out the nurhburg ring but I shant be driving fast on the track, I just want to experience it as its something I have always wanted to do.
