If i hadnt sold the CQ ABY i think it would have been a good project to restore the Yellow shell and then transfer all my bits over to an "actual" s2... in honesty think it'll fetch more than its worth... i think its already up to more than its worth IMHO, you'd have to throw quite a bit at that to do it to a good standard. But what a project....
It'd be a poor show if it was broken...

a early rough 3b which later turned out to be a cat C(so I read on classic audi) sold for about £2500 on ebay a few weeks back so i would say one that yellow one may fetch a lot more with it having some 'history'(presuming it is true) Not quite sure what the launch of the 230bhp i5 has to do with a 3B though

It's a parts car unless you really love it.
Wouldn't be worth enough fixed to warrant the purchase price (if it's not shill bids to infinity!)
I'd have a bid if it was a runner, but it's not, so I won't

She's actually being very wise not to even attempt starting the car if it's been stood for that long, the cambelt could instantly snap due to seized water pump/tensioner, I've seen it happen. Not to mention the 7 year old oil. I'd want to spend at least a day fitting a cam belt kit and generally checking things out before turning the key.

It's sod's law, up until the start of last week I had been secretly looking for an interesting second S2 as an investment, though an Avant would have been my prefered model this would still of been of great interest.

But I've just picked an exceptionally tidy run out model MK2 GTi with a pro (done properly) G60 conversion instead, it really was a bargain and I figured apart from the charger there's much less chance of unexpected massive expense than with another S2 plus I know them inside out. I have a 16 valve that could be for sale, that need's a bit of body work though, nice car with good history, full leather, Oak green etc.

Chris and James, I pick the G60 up this evening so pic's to follow soon chaps, it's Tornado Red.

Be a shame to see it broken up, but I fear it will as it will need a lot of work to get it back to where it needs to be.

Does make my 95 ABY seem like money well spent 6 months ago.

might need a new gear knob to get it going...

                            It's a ridiculous price.
                            Shill bids I'm sure.
I had a road worthy 3b 2 years ago. Air con. Full leather. Ellipsoids. Opening rear windows.
Didn't pay anywhere near what the yellow one is on now

Is anyone able to find photos of it new at the Motor Show as per the text of the ad.

Would make for a good matching pair of "then" and "now" photos.

I agree! Sure to be some dodgy bidding going on there, if I was still going have a punt £1200 would have been my absolute limit and that's probably £400 too much.
