Great stuff, Ben! I personally reckon, diesel is the future.

What is your engine mileage? Have you done any major services on it before tuning?
The engine has done about 100,000 miles. It's had a full service but I tend to do just do bits here and there. Oil when it rattles more than usual, other filters if I feel like it.

Agreed Ben, they're S8s BTW The standard discs are a tad embarrassing

It's best to have two cars. The diesel is only supposed to be my daily driver though.

Only problem is my S2 has been off the road since the summer so the diesel keeps getting getting tinkered with. The other half is not happy about me spending money on two cars

S8 rims? I wasn't looking close enough. Definately need some bigger brakes to fill the gaps. You'll be wanting some like mine...they fill the S8 rims nicely

I did spot the RS2 badge on the back...tut tut tut

Aah the old RS2 badge debate!! When I bought the car it had those badges on, I know that to us enthusiasts its a no no I'm still lookin for s2 front and rear badges

The brakes deffo need doin as the rest of the car is finally A1 mechanically and its about to get a cosmetic make over with the new tailgate and all red rear panel. I've also got some FK springs and new shocks to slap on to make the S8s look at bit more snug.

My daily driver is the A6 2.8 quattro which is worse on fuel than the S2

Trouble is I have the Rallye as well which was parked next to the Avant if you saw that I've loads of jobs to get on with, including the paint on the 27th Dec and the leather retrim on the 6 Jan

After seeing your oil burner on the rollers I might get one and 'tinker' the same as yours, good power, and it looked clean too, where did you get one for 200 quid??

One of my trade customers had it in as it had jumped the cambelt. I accidentally overpriced a new engine for it and the owner decided to scrap it. I offered him £200 and it was mine.

Had to stick an engine in it but it only cost me £650 all in to get it sorted including the car, engine, fitting, tax and insurance.

I saw the rallye, nice bit of kit

Did I talk to you Saturday? I spoke to loads of the MkIV lot but haven't got a clue who anyone was They all seemed very interested to know I could get them a discount on parts though. I was only there because the other half took her 1.8T (which was on the rollers after mine).

Good going Ben. I knew the tyre shredding oil burner was a good one, since the track action.
How did the 1.8T do? Did the clutch hold up?

1.8T managed a meagre 177bhp!! Air mass was knackered though.

I've just fitted a new one and it seems to be a lot better. I'll await the full shakedown report from Miss Nicholls after school tomorrow.

The little belgium fellow is going to be having another look at it when he's back on our soil at christmas methinks.:mischeif:

                              @Phil,

Are you sure you've ordered bits from me? I might be going mental in my old age but I don't recall it.
