    3B Samco problem

Has anybody else fitted their 3B Samco's from the last group buy yet? I tried fitting mine tonight and there seems to be a fairly major problem with the MAF to turbo hose.

    This is the std hose:

As you can see it clears the inlet to the intercooler, it's tight but it clears.

    This is the Samco hose:

Very inconveniently placed slap bang in the middle of the intercooler inlet
I've tried every thing to get it to fit, but as you can just see, the hose to the dump valve is a good 40-50mm out of position and is now way going to fit.

Also the conection to the MAF is not great, it's about 5mm too short, not too much of a problem with the std rubber hose but the Samco's are a great deal tougher and it's difficult to get it onto the MAF.

I'd like to hear from anybody else who bought 3B hoses to see if it's just me.

I had similar problems with my MAF to Turbo hose, I had to whittle the end that fits on to the turbo down to the absolute minmum, just enough to hold a clip, then the same with the BV inlet and also turn the 90deg right angle round so it fits in further. Then it just about goes.. I posted pics on here somewhere.

I wouldn't mind but I waited 4 months for these and most of the delay was put down to the fact that they were being modified so they fitted properly

Andy, this is the reason I didn't fit my Maf - Turbo hose for a few months, I tried fitting it at Toms at the rolling road meet but couldn't get it to go eventually had another go at it with plenty of trimmming down the turbo end when it was suspected that the original hose was getting sucked flat by the turbo and causing the big cutout problems I was having. It fixed the problem.
When the next ABY GB happens I want to try fitting the ABY version to the 3B, it'll move the BV to the later position so no clearance probs, not sure about the breather pipes though..

BTW I have an RS2 IC.

Right then... I'm really hacked off about this... I just spoke to AndyP...

I'm chasing Samco to find out what the hell went wrong. I sent them numerous photos and measurements in order to correct this hose. Thats what took so long in making the change. My only guess is that some numptie has used the wrong tool... If they actually made changes at all.

Believe me - I am sorry about this - it complicates my live no end... I'm just back from a biztrip to Sweden so I could do without the hassle you know !

The part in the pic is the crossmember not the intercooler, both are std.

Who can send me a spare 3B MAF hose - just an old original one. I need to get my hands onto this now to establish all the facts... and physically go to Wales myself if needs be to sort out this nonsense once and for all.

I had similar issues Andy and Paul and I spoke about it and exchanged some pics and measurements too. However I'm running a K&N cone filter so I managed to make mine fit with some effort but it was very very tight and as Newsh suggested, I actually shortened the end of the hose which is going ontot he front of the turbo by about1.5cm to take the pressure off the back side of the hose and the rib in the slam panel and to make space for the small hose off the DV

this is an OEM maf to turbo hose: The exit is in about the right place on the samco but its about 4cm long making it bump into the hose coming off the intercooler
