Guys, Im still having some problems with my snub mount because of its design is causing it to slip past the bracket and so doesn't work right.

This is because the nipple on the end of it isnt the same size as the standard one, Im gonna see if i can get powerflex to modify the design to suit.

Ive stolen martyn's pic from the start of the thread so you can see what i mean.

you can see from this pic what i mean. The snub piece works its way forward until the larger dia piece is no where near the bracket.

Ive had a reply back from powerflex about this and they are gonna re design the mount and im told they should have the designs etc done in the next two weeks so watch this space.

I've not checked mine thats been fitted for 6 months yet Greg. Wasn't aware of any problems with this at all and I've done a fair few miles with it on!!

I'll be fitting the Samco's soon, so will have the chance to look at the snub properly after its 6 months of work.

Greg - it isn't anything to do with the end of the powerflex snub mount - it is hole it slips onto - the original has a small diameter step that locates in the snub mount bracket. You either need that in the powerflex hole or you need to put some sort of bolt through the front of the snub mount into the bracket to stop it sliding forward.

We fitted one to Lees and it slid forward after the first drive - if it didn't slide forward it would be a good design as the end of the snub is a nice tight fit.

I have one that Steve got me but I haven't used it - i was going to epoxy fill the snub mount bracket and drill and tap that(I didn't want to weaken the bracket by drilling into the metal) Then I could put a bolt trhough the snub mount to stop it sliding forward.

i think I still need to pay Paul for my snub mount!

yeah, I had forgotten about the little rib it needs in it, im not sure they would be able to make that very easily, they are going to drill it slightly deeper and put a bigger 'teet' on the end so it cant slide all the way forward like that.

Ahh - I understand now Greg - that would stop it sliding forward as well.

                          Thank you!

Martyn, I got in touch with powerflex and they said it would be two weeks which should be the end of this week.

But with the original timescales i was given for the mk1 version im not holding up much hope with them keeping to the two weeks they said.

I will drop them an email to confirm

I had an email back from powerflex today and they have changed the design and sending me a prototype to try first.

I will post some pics once fitted.
