Would you like any cash up front? I know tooling/prototyping is a bit expensive. I remember the first set of samco's which required a fair bit to cover tooling.

I'm planning to make some nylon bushes up myself when i can get access to a lathe to test the design etc then see how it works before committing to manufacturing.... i'm not making anything out of this so its a big risk putting my own cash into a new unproven product, or expecting people to pay upfront for something unproven also

Right, i've knocked together a basic roughly scale drawing of the rod and and possible bush design on MS Publisher
comments / ideas / abuse welcome
hopefully this is enough for these mfrs to let me know a pallpark cost and possible order numbers etc
I'm going abroad for 2 week tomorrow so will hopefully pick this up on my return and move things forward.
cheers
Alex
EDIT: Can anyone confirm if this bush would potenmtially work for the Type85 or URQ?

My apologies, these have taken me far to long to get done!
Alex(error404) will hopefully be testing them soon, and i wil let him know the cost of a set.
Best Regards

Finally got a chance to get in the garage after smashing my ankle up and being a bit immobile
Kev had sent me a couple set of Acetal / Delrin bushes to test following the design a couple of pages back, and including some grooves in the bore of the tophats to reduce the contact area and to retain lubricant. I've test fitted them today. The fitment into the rod end is very good, and an easy install. Kev has used acetal I think becasue of the cost of casting polyurethane and difficulty machining it (is that right Kev?). These Acetal bushes appear very similar in hardness to the black Powerfex used in their wishbone bushes, which is 95 shore A IIRC
I did a back to back compared against stock rubber bushes - I can say that these Acetal bushes will be a BIG improvement. Fitted up to the subframe, I could get about 35mm of flex out of the stock bush measured at the end of the tie rod and being forced forwards and backwards by hand. With the acetal bushes fitted this was reduced to about 5mm of flex
I won't have a chance to road test these for a few weeks yet unfortunately, but at this stage as i have said to Kev, I don't think there is any further work needed and they appear to be perfect for purpose.
Thanks Kev
