I never knew that they needed to 'bed in' either Mark. Mine had done that before mapping anyway! Also read on that sheet that current consumption of 13A. May be worth fixing up a relay system near to the pump to make sure that it is getting a full 13V supply rather than a weak 11V supply. We found that this was happening on Johnnyboy's car even with a std fuel pump.

Yeah, wish my battery was under the rear seat, would make that mod a lot easier..

fitted my pump today, all the other kits are ready to go apart from one that is awaiting two parts.

I will stick a fitting guide in with each kit too.

try to chec out the volt at the batt,if the volt are low.(lower then 14,4v) change the reg in alternator,to marked 14,8v or 15v....you will see the differens!

sometimes the low voltage is because the cable to the pump has degraded over the years so new cable is needed since the resistance of the cable has built up over the years.

this was part of the prob on mine.

If you have a higher charge rate such as 15V it may damage other ECU's etc. They arent designed to run at this voltage. 15V systems can also affect airbag systems.

                          Tom,

I think some of the early 3B's were fitted with the same 60mm pumps as the Audi 200, whichever it definately made life easier for you as it was just a straight swap, without having to change the pump holder. Did yours have a pressure damper fitted?
