I just used a flat head screwdriver and gently teased them up. There was some sort of black sticky stuff holding them down as well, I assume it was there for vibrations

Hey me too, I'd like to get front and rears.. on aby coupe.. I need to pop over to the car to see if the rears will fit... still no answers from people on here. So no one knows whether the speakers fit into the rear?
Thats the main issue. the good mid range to bassy sound is lacking in the standards.
Bloody hell we are all at it tonight! I have just finished fitting mine now and frankly they are outstanding! I had some (what I thought were good) Kenwood speakers in there , they were in fact rubbish! The only way I can describe how good they are is by saying it is like going from standard definition TV to HDTV!
For those that have not fitted them, here are a few tips:
I had to carefully chop two of the "ears" off with sharp wire cutters.
I also had to chop up the plastic ring that forms part of the lower dash where the speakers fit. These speakers are chunky and a very tight fit.
I also had to ditch the rubber "wedge" that would normally secure one of the ears, but due to them being plastic and thicker than the usual metal, it is not needed.
Overall I think they are amazing and I have just sat for half an hour in the dark listening to all my "new" music.
Thanks Yaz.

The first batch has already been ordered and shipped. But I have just had commitment from Chris (above) so if I can get 3 more orders at least then that would help the GB.
Many thanks
Yaz
