I have this conversion on my car and it's time for new discs, but I can't remember what year these 300mm discs are from

        • Hello,

About the S2 Coupé rear break:

          Someone know why you don't use brake caliper from S8 part number 4D0 615 423 E/424 E ?
This S8 caliper is more light than 100 S4 and the handbrake routing to the caliper seems the same.
          Thanks in advance

          • I think the S8 calipers have been used on the coupes for this previously

            • i had this in my coupe before...my problem was that...the rear brakes were more powerfull than the fronts. I had S2 brakes in front. How you adjust the rear braking power? You had problems using the S2 brake pressure regulator?
Maibe this was on my mind only...but it didin't felt right.

              • I don't think to have this problem because I have 996 bi turbo brakes in front

                • so.... why is nobody using the 310x22 with the 4D0615425D brackets?!

my coupe is rolling on A4 hubs on the rear -> rotor 48mm hats

                  the A8 D2 269 disks are 46,4mm deep.

they use 4D0615425B (trw bda 510) brackets which look quite the same as
the 100/200/V8 269 447615425B (trw bda 419) brackets in my garage.
i wouldn't be surprised if they are.

                  then there are the a8 d2 310 disks -> 42,4 deep (5,6mm offset to my A4 B5 setup i use)
                  rotor: 3D0615601D / 4E0615601A / 4E0615601K 310x22x42,4
                  bracket: 4D0615425D

both use the same hub and wheel bearing housing.
so why is there a difference in the rotor hight?

but over all the should fit, don't you think so?

and best 22mm caliper are the A/S8 ones because they are aluminum?

                  • Because the disk is 300mm, you can't use the 310mm caliper carrier

I use the 280mm caliper carrier: 4D0615425C my brake disks have been machined to 280mm

I don't know if it's the best caliper, but it was more easy to find them in new, 100 S4 caliper is very difficult to find in good condition.

                      • as you can see there is a 310mm disk available. but not for the standard s2 hubs.

                        • With 300 and 310mm the brake pads are too little, the correct assembly is 269 or 280mm

                          • Edit: maybe with 310mm brake disk is correct ?
