Replacement plugs will go in before I get it back on the rollers, it's running the correct S2 plugs from VAG. The spark plugs are 10k old so I usually replace them about every 10k. Will get my boost tester on it again this evening and hopefully have anotehr 710N / Forge to go on there permanently as I'm borrowing a hyperboost valve at the mo. Once it's sorted I'll get it all VAG commed up and see what's happeneing. Hope to get it on the rollers again soon too but at £50 a time I'm not about to do it before I've tackled every avenue of investigation.
Disappointing rolling road results

I've seen curves of that nature after my innitial mapping. The torque was set way too high; it shot into the high 800's (Nm's). It then dipped before recovering.
After about 9 runs (!) a lower torque prooved to be best. (The still shreds the gearbox)

Cheers Doug, going to sort the obvious DV problem and get some plugs and pressure test it myself but a wideband test would be really helpful. I'll contact you when I've sorted the DV and plugs. Cheers.Cheers'en, AndyC

Let me know how you get on as my curve looked remarkably like yours
Dont get me wrong, im happy with the custom re-map, the car pulls well over both torque peaks, and returns very good mpg when its driven carefully, but i was a bit dissappointed with my rolling road graphs as well after an advertised 280bhp and 430 NM
Changed my air filter tonight, and the oil and plugs will be done before Audi driver day incase i put her on the rollers again
. The air filter had done its 20K miles, the oil is upto 5K and the plugs have done 30K.
Not sure how much this may have affected the result

Actually this is kind of similar to what mine is doing at the moment, Andy what does it feel like if you keep the boost below 0.5 Bar? Does it only start to mess up if you use more boost?Comment

Also my exhaust tailpipes are very black too, seems like the car is running rich. Used a tank full to get down to Cornwall, pulling the bike on a trailer so not really going for it.
Oh yes, and my boost gauge flutters between 3 and 4k.Last edited by newsh; 13 August 2007, 21:31.Comment

Mine did 258bhp as a 'standard' car so expected a lot more than 273 but the AFRs were far too low, partly due to the DV.
Will get the plugs, filter and DV sorted before taking it for a checkup with a wideband lambda. A friend has one and Doug has offered the use of his. Did a boost leak test this evening and sorted one tiny leak. The fluctuating boost is still there though at 4k, I tested it a few times in 4th this evening :mischeif:, at 5k the car starts to absolutely fly compared to a standard map, but 3k to 5k there's very little in it.
@Newsh, I haven't noiced anything on part throttle, get your car on VAGcom and see if there's a mixture adaptation fault code, could be you Lambada sensor!Cheers'en, AndyC

I've got a diode in the car so I'll do the "blinks" in the morning. Might just pull all the hoses off and give them a visual..Comment

Mine used to hesitate on boost, on consecutive WOT runs it pulled like a train then other times it felt flat, was the Lambda sensor and threw up the aforementioned fault.
I think my MAF is in for some cleaning and possibly the air filter element too.Cheers'en, AndyC
