It will help me a lot to replicate a new PCB or at least know how it was back then. Many thanks
Hey Tom, my apologies for not digging a switch out and taking some pic's, I've hardly been down the workshop for the past week or so due to family commitments as well as having a stinking cold and I completely forgot about this.

I'm sure I've got at least one early type switch from my 1990 S2 that I can take some decent photo's of inside.

I'll be down there on and off this week sorting out the huge amount of B5 spares that came with my recently acquired TDI Sport as they're getting in my way and annoying me. Once I've cleaned up my benches from prepping and paint a load of parts I'll happily take time to take the switch apart, at the moment it's chaos and I can't work like it.

    • No problem, i already bought another PCB, and it seems OK, however there is one dead bulb, any idea what bulb it is? Thanks

      • I'm pretty sure I used generic grain of rice bulbs inside my old 3B switch as I purchased 100 of them which will probably last me for life.

        • 9.6 I am going to MOT after 3,5 years of building, so fingers crossed

To make matters worse, I discovered an electrical problem, the interior lights are on even when the key is in the ON position, the lights are still on and the relay was very hot. It looks like the blue relay probably has a cold connection and it also looks like a problem with the door switches or light switches.

          • After 3,5 years of work, lot of work, lot up and downs..... I have an MOT again for another 2 years
Some details, geometry, still need to be fine-tuned, but otherwise the car is ready for some km.

            • Congratulations Tom!
I hope you get many years of trouble-free motoring, you certainly deserve it given the amount of blood, sweat and tears you put into your project.

                  • Thanks guys, I really appreciate it. Too bad a lot of the older photos don't work here anymore, but at least some of the newer ones are here.
Anyway, this isn't the end, as they say, a proper project is never finished
