In very cold climates, a stock ADU will produce approx. 380hp and 500nm. This is well within the safety factors that Porsche used when they picked the rods for this engine.
Members of this forum have ADU's that produce 620nm and 2.2 bar at 3300rpms with stock turbo and rods. In cold climates, those numbers are even higher. They don't bend the rods, since the spark fire when it is supposed to.

034's 440hp 3071 kit is recommended for standard internals.
Your missing the point Nip has a S2 Avant which does not have a dizzy so spark hop does not apply to his question and it does not apply to the RS2.

On the forum I can think of about 5 documented on here with pictures of bent rods.

I know of others off the forum.

The 3071R turbo does not produce as much torque as an RS2 turbo in the lower rev range it does however produce more BHP.

      Do not confuse the 2.

Pre ignition can happen in any car, but the ratio of 3B's with damaged rods vs. multiple coil setups that experience the same speak loud and clear.
The motorsport community knew about this ages ago, and upgraded the ignition on the single coil engines.
        1995 RS2 on Alcohol (6.8sec 100-200km/h)
        1994 80E Avant
        1986 2L Golf 2 on Alcohol

What has this to do with the RS2 and the S2 Avant?

If Nip has an ABY, he has nothing to fear, but his question was about S2's in general.
The compression stresses on a rod are dependent on max torque, where in the rev range it is produced has little effect. 3071R will produce more max torque than the K24 7200. Max torque produced at low rpm can lead to pre ignition through detonation (more time for each knock event to happen at low rpms). What we have then is failure due to pre ignition, and not from compressive forces from normal combustion

I assumed that Mr. Volcano was refering to a rod failure on a RS2?

                      I see
It all depends on the power levels that he wants to achieve

any thing more than 50 bhp is too much for nip he can't handle it
