Decided to slowly start to remove the tar sound deadening in the to improve sportiness both in terms of weight and feel. Interestingly, there's over 1kg of this stuff under the rear bench alone! Guessing at 20kg for the whole car, pehaps more... get to do some lightweight performance testing with all the interior out too Hoping for 0-60 in 4.xx s

i have removed all isolation in my avant ( exept front floor, there are so much vents under there so the floor would be "rough")

when i sit in the car and slams the door, it sounds like an real racecar should and i still got the carpet and inner doors left ( without isolation inside them) i think i have managed to get ot 15-20kg inside and 30kg under the car, loads of isolation there from previous owner ( or if it´s oem, id dont know)

so there is weight to catch!

ps. the s2 coupe door weight 40kg each complete, a Glassfibre+ "Plexiglass" (english word?) is about 10kg

One thing i've learned we are way behind the Scandinavians!

GF doors require a serious rollcage for side protection tho so it's not quite that mch saving...

              Yeah, point taken

Also want CF hood (bare) and GF wings, get the front weight down. Along with 500bhp this should be a good first step

Have to stick to the free upgrades for now

and a knife FARB that would save you 10-15kg you have the rs2 right? its freaking heavy!

I've got ALL the underbody sealer and sounded deadening pads frmo my CQ in a bin bag in my garage, i can weight the lot if you are interested Andy - about 30kgs i'd guess

Little tip - heat the sounded deadener pads up with a hair drier until you can only just touch them without burning yourself, then they peel off nicely - then use white spirit to get rid of any sticky residue

FARB is OE S2, Rear is 25mm, it's quite sharp on the road, perhaps a bit much on track.

AC was removed 2 years ago, just thinking of methods to retain carpet but ditch other extra weight...

                              **** me 10kilos? That's coming out i think...

Golden rule: If it weighs more than what you can dump whilst on the karzi then it comes out
