How many miles from a tank of fuel?

    Hi,

I have an ABY S2 Avant and I've always got about 340 miles from a tank of unleaded (95, 97 or 99 RON). I recently removed, cleaned and checked all boost hoses. I also cleaned out loads of mank from the inter-cooler and now I get 410 miles per tank. Wow!

Just curious... how many miles do you get out of a tank? (I do a mix of motorway, town, sensible and "showing my passengers what an S2 is all about " styles of driving.)

180 miles/tank = mainly fun (this week I 'as mostly been playing wiv Beemers :mischeif
    230 miles/tank = town/fun (no motorway )
    270 miles/tank = town/motorway (no fun )
330 miles/tank = just the once, following a friends dagdag

I know I have a fueling issue and/or a lamda sensor issue, but 400+ miles to a tank is just not right Are you sure you have an S2 and not a TDi?

    Cheers n

      250 - 280 miles of normal (B road) driving using V-power.
88 miles at the Nurburgring on the German equivalent.

Between the 230 to 280 mark depending on driving, HAve done above the magical 300 a few times on motorway cruises with the cruise doing the driving at a steady 70.

yep. 29 MPG... 64L tank (correct me if that's wrong) = ~14.22 Gallons

                14.2*29~412

Yep. My best MPGs have been on trips south.
To even approach 400 it's got to be slow... like 60-65... Makes for a long boring trip down the M6.

used to play around with the instant mpg readout on a few runs and sitting around 80 used to be best bet , average mpg at end of trip would come in around 34 mpg but that was on around 800-900 mile trip

I used to be able to get over 30 in my S2, but still haven't managed in the RS2...

i get between an average of arouynd 270 to a tank. even on the 650cc's with vems. on the motorwawy around 350.

foot down i wouldn't like to think about it.

the standard map can be leaned out a fraction with a remap or ECU and add a fraqctino of timing and its a few mpg better.
