Got back home finally yesterday after a couple of weeks away to find my exhaust sounding like its blowing, again! and a rubbing noise coming on decelleration which is typical. Then my brake light has been playing up on and off too.
So ive spent most of today working on my car trying to fix all of these problems and fitting my samco's.
I found the problem, or one of which was the exhaust rubbing. Got it up on the jack and axle stands to find that the exhaust is rubbing against the rear driveshaft, i think you dont notice it once your on throttle because the exhaust is louder then and where it has moved a bit it is catching on the bottom of the car too, so i reckon this is probably the cause of it blowing.
Anyhow i got hold of prism this morning who had the car in a couple of weeks ago to fix the blowing. They were quite understanding about it and wanted me to bring it down on friday, which would mean another day off work so taking it in on sat and they are opening specially to do it. Ive already taken 3 or 4days off work getting this exhaust fitted etc so far so its just as well and its a bit of a trek taking it there all the while too.
At least it will be fixed and its getting sorted pretty quickly, but it is a very tight fit for the exhaust with it being 3" all the way thru. Im gonna ask them about the possiblity of making the induction kit dahlback style too and see how much they would want to do it, there is a few companies in sandy that do SS too so they may be worth approaching too
Ive got most of the samco's in now, and decided while that bits off....
You know the story, ive ended up taking no end of bits and pieces off while im at it and decided to give the ISV a clean up and the rocker cover a little polish and replace my cracked coil pack cover. I was gonna get it chromed but decided to do the crackle finish on it so the coils can dissipate the heat better. Goto wait a few more hours to do the last coat on that before i can refit it though
Also while i was fitting the samco's i found a boost leak i didnt know i had, didnt think it seemed to be going as well as it was, anyway it was the pipe onto the throttle body so hopefully i will be back to full flavour behaviour with the samco's fitted.
Lets see if i can get it all back together before i go out thsi eve
