Something, certainly. He can be very personable.
But he has a curious memory that immediately "loses" the value of favours done to him and objects given to him.
Before he had the workshop, but after they bought "the palace", he didn't really have a covered space to work in. For a few months we used his father-in-law's barn. This was part of a redundant small farm, long given over to 100% domestic use. His father-in-law was a private individual who didn't really like having his space invaded.
At the time, he only had one vehicle - a 200 TQ estate. We went to the barn to work on Alan Woolhouse's 20V (cracked rear subframe, bushes all round) and Beth took off in their car. After an hour or so she called to say she'd broken down - in fact one of the rear struts had somehow "lost it" and needed wleding and replacement. So he took my car to rescue her - I think he hired a flatbed trailer - and brought it back to the barn. Then he spent the rest of the day messing with it.
I took the subframe to Northampton Audi to have the pressing done - I think they charged 30 quid - and did a bit of chasing about. I laid out just under 100 quid, not counting fuel and time.
When the settling up came, he wanted his share as if he'd worked the day he spent on his own car. I had apparently received my just deserts in the 100 quid I'd taken (and spent on the job, against invoices) and every other suggestion - the fuel he'd used rescuing Beth, the fuel I'd used ferrying bits around - was ridiculed. And I really believe he meant it.
The above, BTW, is not contained in the GBP435 he owes me - that was something else.
If anyone ever needs them, I have contemporaneous notes.Comment

I'm amazed how this sort of thing could happen
, More so how this guy got away with it for so long (and to so many people) while retaining his kneecaps:mischeif:.
I'm afraid I'm very new to this S2 ownership lark (and this forum) so I don't have any spares I could help out with but I must say I am well impressed with the members of the forum jumping to the aid of someone who has been shafted by a :corey: .
I am sickened by the pics of your car David.1996 Audi S6 Avant.
