Just pulled apart an ur-quattro 20V with an ECU "remapped by quattronics".

Wastegate frequency valve bypassed so the wastegate is permanently held down. Zener diode mod in the ECU (not seen one in an RR Motronic ECU before) and stock chips.

Sneaky bit - the wastegate frequency valve was still plugged in but tie-wrapped to the harness so you can still hear it clicking when you run the diagnostics.

So if you've had a 20V "remap" at quattronics, it might be an idea to find out what you got.

Phil, Quattronics don't remap the cars it's Automark that remap the car for them. It is well known that they use mechanical boost over a proper ecu remap.

This is to some peoples fancy, to me it's not what I would pay for.

What Phil has described is not what Mark does. Mechanical boost yes, but not zener diode. Fuel & timing are mapped in the usual way with the chip burnt and fitted once he is content.

                  Don't sound like Marks work...

AFAIK it fools the ecu to think it's cold and it dumps a shed load more fuel across the map

Nice, doesn't sound much of a remap.

Maybe this one didn't go to Mark? Who knows where Corey was really sending what?

Common practice as the Motronic ECU doesn't like having the N75 valve disconnected throws up all sorts of errors when running alternative boost control. So whether you run manual bleed valve or aftermarket boost control the N75 must remained plugged in but not plumbed in to avoid errors.

Then there is two options with regards to the Motronic map sensor either totally ignore it by disconnecting the boost line (obviously block of the boost source) or put in the diode mod so that the ECU doesn't go into limp mode from overboost. Or alternatively fit a Vmap sensor. I've personally opted for the disconnecting of the boost line and the total removal of the boost chip. Running an aftermarket controller to control boost. If someone wishes to retain some sort of reading on the dash you'd have to go the diode (cheep) or Vmap (expensive) route.

im 99% sure i have run with my n75 unplugged for about 3 years with no issues. even on motronic at first. it ran miles better on motronic off the n75.

careful AFR measures setup of course.
