Right - Been Thinking about this for the last week or so. I met a Guy today who came to pick up some parts from a MK2 I'm breaking and he wanted a bumper slider bracket also as his G60 has the same problem - Turns out he's a VW mechanic and told me how they do them at work and this is what I have just done today and I'm very happy with the results...
Tools Needed;
Broken Bracket....
Cut it into quarters;
Nick the wife's kitchen flame thrower (Whilst she's not looking)!!!
Heat up the bent over plastic and pull them off leaving a nice amount of plastic on he bracket (Careful not to over heat them and damage the paintwork)
Put New Bracket in Place;
Now Heat up the star socket and bend over the remaining plastic from the mounts;
Use some stainless steel self taper screws;
Re-attach the bumper to the car.... Stand back and admire the finished job!!!
