Just took the rear lights out and there are NO seals around them which would suggest that's why you get a reservoir in the boot when you wash it?

I take it that these are available or is there some other kind of mod i.e. silicone seal?

        Yep, Dum-Dum as John say's.
Or, if you're a bit posh, the same sticky sealing strip that is used on quattro rear lights Steve

Took the lights out and this is what it looked like. As you can see from one of the rear lenses, there are no seals fitted at all.

Three layers of sealant and a sleepless night on Sunday as it absolutely tipped it down and upon inspection on Monday morning..........bone dry as we say in these parts.

Took the car for an MOT today. I put the correct pressure in the tyres and went for a bit of a sprint as the drilled discs were very rusty. After a bit of smoke from them they came back to life so off to the MOT station. Once there we had to lift it over the pit as it was too low and the exhaust was catching.

It passed. Also the drivers electric window is now working again!

Not bad to say it's been in storage for a few years. OK I had to do a few jobs, neverthless I gave it some 'spirited' driving on the way home and in comparison to the UR I was very impressed!

Sadly, it's now for sale as I need to concentrate on my SWB project :

              £3175 what do you think?

The guy that was after the S2 the same time as me has offered me an engine from one he's breaking so it seems like the better option and your old car will live on to fight another day. Note as well there's not a lot of profit taking here if any, just trying to recover my money and get back in favour with Mrs B.

I've really enjoyed having the S2 and working on it. I always used to look the other way being a UR owner, but after today I have total respect for the S2, it's a great car and when I get my double garage I would love another one as a stable mate to the RR.

How much do you want for the braided hoses as I can use them on my SWB I think.
