Christ Alive! Talk about a vipers nest!

This thing is wired up like a Saturn5 rocket, its taking some time to remove this lot. Those professional alarm fitters have also been at the wiring with there garden shears, they've made a right bloody mess of the wiring, theres chopped wires and unterminated stuff with no obvious connection all over the place! I can see some long nights with the schematics ahead sorting this lot out.

Right quiz time, where does this wire terminate?

No need for answers on a postcard either, you can post it right here

One way ticket to hospital! That does sound serious, don't want that But seriously though, I don't exactly drive at ten tenths on the road anyway and I'm well passed driving on the rear bumpers of the car ahead. I hear what your saying and intended to use a reputable everyday tyre not some yang shang po's, what I meant is that i will not be putting on top end performance tyres to pootle to work in, just no point really, i will defo check out eBay for some of those tyres though thanks for the pointer

Im sure the time will come when I regret sticking with it, but for now im full of enthusiasm and convinced I can turn this one around, in all fairness it isn't really that bad, lets see what comes of it!

Agreed, track cars don't need sunroof's, it will be coming out one way or another. I do intend to weigh everything that I have removed form the car and wont be re-fitting to try and gauge how much weight I've removed.

I'm pretty sure your right, there were definitely some brackets holding the thing in there. I will have a crack at pulling it out tonight if its not raining again!

In terms of tyres; it's the make and model and thus compound and tread pattern that make the largest difference. 205 Conti CS3 will easily be better than some 225 Nankangs... I ran 225/50R16 for a few years and they were fine, 225/45R17 are the best allrounder option.
Aye she is a bit grotty, not sure im entirely on top of it! I've never welded up a car before but I have welded all kinds of the things in the past. Im certainly approaching the outer reaches of my comfort zone! but it'll be reet!

As for tyres, the Borbets are staying for now, they will be shod in some cheap horrible tyres for the road, after all we can only go so fast :mischeif: I will likely chuck on some 888's for trackdays & such.

I've crossed the point of no return now though! I've just ordered my PortaMIG 185 which should be with me in 3-4 weeks, they are made to order right here in England, welding the car up with my TIG was going to be very tedious and almost impossible to stitch weld the seams because of the gunk between the seams was getting a bit lairy when heated. So I've got 3-4 weeks to empty the rest of the interior, dash components & fuel system. In the meantime I will start weighing things and ebaying all the bits I don't need. Does anyone need any interior gubbins?

I know, I know! That was a very feeble attempt at standing my ground, I know this next statement will come back to haunt me but I do intend on keeping the expenditure down, well as much as possible anyway, I think the majority of whats needed is more hours than anything else. I'm going to beg, steal & borrow as much as possible and I think I have a cheeky plan to get the car painted :mischeif:

Woha woha woha, I've convinced myself this is going to be a cheap rebuild, budget track car if they exist lol! We'll see how it progresses, getting to the point of no return though with the things I'm looking to order :mischeif:

Andy all parts were from Pete @ quattro corner. All well priced and off the shelf, every thing delivered in a day or two. Top service! Will post up the prices when I get home for you.

Has anyone here had there S2 coupe on a rotisserie? I would like to see some pics please

Probably a stupid question but is the Renn-tech S2 coupe bodykit available to buy? I can't find any info on it anywhere, but damn it looks good!

Good call on checking the fuel lines, worth doing now, its not expensive, there is a good how to one here as well.

Where did you get the HD bushes from? How much? Look good?

Looks like you are getting well stuck in!
