It was a cracking idea in my head! In reality, doesn't work that well.

"You're always gonna have problems lifting a body in one piece, apparently the best thing to do is cut up a corpse into six pieces and pile it all together. And when you've got your six piece's you've gotta get rid of em. It's no good leavin em in the deep freeze for your mum to discover now is it" ~ Bricktop.

So the time has come for me to fetch my donor shell, big thanks to DJH for donating it to the cause.

At this point everything was going swimmingly, the plasma cutter was ripping through the car at a stormin rate. Then it all when **** up! It caught alight and wasn't for putting out, in the mild panic we decided to remove it from the workshop, those shells aren't that heavy! Fire under control and a scorched shell, that underseal would do nicely to power a rocket!.

It was in two halves, merely scorched and I decided it was time to pack up & go home. It took ten hours to hack it all up & load it, tidy up etc and a total of 7 hours driving 400 miles in a transit van! What a day.

I didn't get pictures as we loaded last night but I did snap some this morning before off loading it.

Now I know what your thinking, why didn't I just trailer it away and to be honest I don't really know! I would not recommend this to anyone and will never do it again, lesson learnt!

At the end of the day, I can salvage what I need and should just about be able to piece the shell back together (the S2 shell obviously lol). Its on the lawn being deconstructed, I need to get this done asap.

I think I may have gone a step too far this time

I also snapped up a couple of goodies from DJH while I was there, I got the 7A flywheel & rear hatch. I have never seen this before and as soon as I saw it I had to have it!

Its been a hell of a weekend, literally. But the job is done and I can crack on with it for a while now, the scale of the task ahead is starting to dawn on me now but I ain't gonna give up!

Now I bet thats something you've not seen before

It was willg54 I copied, I just used thicker wall and welded the attachent for ease of use/make a tool for future use.

Proper one is something like this (3b iirc, aby has a tube on the end to lock on somewhere) Tube would be nicer if you have some the right size but 2" box works.

There are a few threads with pictures as well on here.

I have also locked the flywhel no issues.

PS like the new gear knob.
Now thats what I'm talking about, looks like you've used a hefty wall there too . Its similar to the one I made for my 1.8T. Like I said im not in a rush and would rather do it this way than locking the flywheel.

Now I made that gear knob all on my own you know!

I'm not doubting that bud, its just I can lock the pulley, I just don't have a tool to do it now. I need to fab something up. I would rather do it this way than locking the flywheel. I made a similar tool for my 1.8T so shouldn't be a problem making another one for this

What 4wheeldrifter says is correct you have to lock at flywheel if you can't lock the pulley look at the tool djones built for example

No offence buddy but I'd rather not find out! I have the provision to lock the pulley so it would be stupid not to really, I'm not in a rush to get the crank out anyway so I can wait for the material to arrive
