    Update.

Finally I've finished removing all the panels & sections from the donor shell and I was gladly back to work on the S2. I built up the rotesserie and test fitted it, turns out I need some spacer plates for the rear bumper bar.

So I've ordered some material to make the spacer plates so I can adjust it without it hitting the body. In the mean time I've stripped the sunroof, exhaust, rear subframe and diff, rear quarter glass and made a start at removing the driver side rear quarter panel, lots of filler, rust & MIG weld.

    More rustyness

Crazy thing is this is alot worse than the coupe shell I cut up Anyway, I have the week off work and I'm hoping the weather will hold up so I can crack on with it!

    Another lame update.......

I had a boozy weekend so progress was difficult, I have almost finished removing all the panels from the off side of the donor. I had to get it done because 1, I want it off the lawn and 2, those pikey scrap merchants are circling like vultures! They've already helped themselves to this lot plus the rear quarter and windscreen upper frame!

So bye bye to all those panels, I really needed certain sections of that lot. Anyway thats that so It was time to get busy removing what I have left before they robbed that as well! Luckily the side I have left is the worst side of my S2, looks like I will have to tin bash the repair sections for the stolen bits now

I decided to remove this quarter panel with the outer arch piece attached, just seems like a less destructive way. Your always gonna have to tackle the brazed bits though which is a PITA, I used my cheapo dremel to good effect.

Rot free well almost but nothing that can't be easily fixed. The sill is also off and I just have to section out the floor pan and it's all done.

    Some more random pics

Interestingly these inner pieces are different in my ABY coupe, not vastly but they are different. I will take some pictures when the time comes to compare.

If anyone reading has replaced a complete quarter panel before I'd be very interested to hear how you did it, I can't see a quarter panel being replaced without stripping off the rear apron first!?!

Now then, now then. I have a set of B5 RS4 front calipers knocking about somewhere, I already know I would need a bracket making up to fit the S2 carrier but do you know of any reason why they wouldn't work? I don't have a disc to fit up to see what I'm dealing with and one of you S2 geekers is bound to already know

Oxy-acet would have made the job easy and that's what I would have used, I might try and get my hands on one when I start on the S2 shell, in the end I removed the panels off the donor with a dremel very carefully and managed to do a reasonably tidy job. The scary bit comes next, making a start on the shell!

Need to borrow an oxy-acet torch or just go really careful with the grinder..

Lame update but it makes me feel like I'm progressing.

The brazed areas proved to be a real ballache, TIG didn't work or at least not for me so I cut round them with a dremel, looking at the way Audi have put the rear quarters on these coupes means removing / freeing up alot of panles first if you replace the entire quarter, hmmmm gonna have to think about how to proceed on the S2 shell. That said I have now almost removed everything I need from the twins and I'm busy chopping it up to the pleasure of the neighbours. The rotesserie has also arrived but its still in the box till the donor's gone, if im honest I haven't a clue how to get it mounted so thats gonna be a day of fun or catastrophe

    Also received my new toy....

Good ol' British engineering, should get the job done nicely.

So I'm hoping to have the little piggie on the spit by the weekend then the real work starts

Yes thats what DJH said, I've just never seen it before I'm sure you'll agree it is pretty cool, I had to have it!

Right I've been drilling for hours now, almost got the panels off one side already until I found these little beauties under the seam sealer!

Brazing! Awesome. Now that is going to be a nightmare to seperate, I don't have a oxy-fuel torch at home which would make it really easy. I'm going to have to try TIG de-brazing! Its brazed in three places so this going to be fun.
