My gut feeling is that I haven't seen the end of the leaks, but opted not to remove the bumper until I have too. I've a couple of friends coming to drive my new diesel audi 80 at the weekend, looking forward to that.

Check the WG diaphragm is good, the WGFV plumbing and all those orrible narrow braided tubes...

I spent a good few hours doing that on someone elses car this week and it found several faults in the 'is it airtight' department - mityvac is my friend !

Ah it's going perfect for the moment. I'll do a thorough check of everything when I buy / borrow / make / hire a boost leak tester. What is mityvac, is is something a mere mortal should acquire?

            I would like to report that while a homefried s2 isn't a match for a B6 S4 (4.2 V8) in a straight line sprint; there isn't a huge amount in it.

@Shane / Craig now that ye're lurking around here, just do it

If the problem comes back sporadically, with symptoms similar to a boost leak, I'd have a good look at the MAF connector.

Now that you say that most of the hose clamps were very tight and the only other thing I would have done was unplug and reconnect the MAF. I will clean those connectors tonight.

I cleaned the MAF connectors as best I could without specialist cleaning stuff. All is well it seems.

I ripped a CV boot last night so got that changed this evening. That CV grease is horrible gunk.

Trial fitted my BMW brembos, nearly there now.

This car is sold. Sad to see it drive away but it's staying in the family so to speak. to s2 ownership Craig.

                            That didn't last long.

Pity you can't move your Coupe as quick.

Two of my best friends (brothers) are lurking around here and wanted to do the rest of the refurb / tidying themselves. I think it had a windsurfer in it earlier today.

The sunroof was a bit of a David, I found myself driving with my head sideways. I notched the seat to let it down further but changing the seat was going to take from the car and lowering the seating position isn't ideal because it pushes your knees up into the steering wheel.

All in all it's in a safe place now, it'll get daily use and weekend thrashed.

Now I have no working weekend toy. I'll get to work on the coupe now. After my brief avant experience I would have a non sunroof s2 / rs2 avant in a heartbeat.
