Hope you guys don't mind. It's not S2 related, but an invader from the S2's future
Well, the S2 has now gone, the 80 TDi S2 looky-like has gone along with the ubber reliable A6.
Other half is 26 weeks pregnant, due in January so needed a family wagon and after Allie and my mum commented a few times that the A6 was " a bit old looking" (snobs) I fancied a change.
Always liked the look of the B6 and idealy was after a 1.9 TDi quattro, but they are hard to find.
Didn't fancy going the 2.5 TDi V6 route with it's dodgy cams issues (BTDT that with the RS4) so that left the 1.8T four pot engine.
This is the first Audi I've owned in 15 years with an engine on less than 5 cylinders.
Wanted a late sport model as it's got the S-line front and rear bumpers with the S4's type door blades.
Good one found and bought for a good price. It's a 163bhp model with a 6 speed manual (very rare in 6 speed so I've been told)
Told her indoors that I'd not mess around with it............aye righto
Bits done so far;
1/ Full detail including 3 hours removing tar spots with tardis, 2 hours with a clay bar, 4+ hours with the rotary and menz, finished with Jeffs Werksatt and Colinite layered on the lowers.
2/ Brodis phone mount and charger,
3/ Full engine bay degrease,
4/ B7 RS4 PAS bottle/washer bottle cover,
5/ V6 TDi aircon pipes cover,
6/ Chrome trim sanded down and covered with Plastidip rubber matt black (this stuff does NOT chip) on the bonnet grille and lower centre bumper grille,
7/ Single CD concert headunit removed, full double din conversion, aircon unit reduced down in length and topped off with an RNS-E sat-nav plus unit (big job)
8/ Gear surround, ashtray, dash trim and door trims that were piano black, now covered in 3M 1080 RF-12 carbon.
9/ Rear number plate lights changed for LED versions (full reflector, not just bulbs)
10/ 55w 6000K HID's
11/ 7 LED sidelight bulbs,
12/ Illuminated cup holder and coin tray.
You lot know I'm a pic whore, so he we go.
Engine before;
Engine after a bit of a clean up, new expansion tank and a couple of covers;
Random as I was giving her a bit of a going over;
Jeezus, that stuff smells rank (Iron-X). Barf......
