I remember removing all the ABS wiring too, ballache. If i recall correctly I think you need to either connect or ground a yellow wire behind the dash or youll have the ABS light constantly illuminated, which is an MOT failure.

Just a heads up. Think ive got it written in one of my sketchbooks which wire it was if you need to know for sure.

    Keep it going.

      Cheers Kieron,

I'm away at the moment for a month or so but I'm just trying to acquire some parts for when I get back

        Ok, bit of an update.

Also if a mod thinks this would be better in the projects section could you shift me over please

Time (and money) have been tight, but I'm off this week so I'm hoping to get a good chunk of work done.

I have removed the battery tray and bracket for the abs unit etc, then I have removed the front subframe and gearbox.

Iv got a few other bits to take out before I can give the bay a good seeing to with a wire brush before giving it a lick of paint.

I aim to do the same with the subframe and wishbones before refitting it with poly bushes and alloy mounts.

        A couple of rust patches

And I think it's actually split on the driver side, I need to take a closer look

The engine is still awaiting ARP head bolts and a few new parts before it goes back together

        Excuse my mess haha

And I was given this from a friend, hopefully it will see some use at some point lol

That's about it for now, hopefully I'll get more done tomorrow!

        Jase.

Iv given the bay a "very" quick blast of rattle can (Halfords appliance white) paint

It's by far perfect but the car will be used and abused, also I have used rattle cans so that I can easily add or remove things like brackets etc and just easily paint it back in again.

Need to get the subframe and wishbones cleaned up and painted then I'll be waiting on solid mounts and poly bushes.

I'm going to paint the interior in the same paint then I'm intending a dark satin grey for the exterior later on.

          Jason.

None are really cheap, but floflex, superflex, powerflex can all be bought on ebay or direct, which saves a few quid over most retailers.

                Thanks,

Iv just found Strongflex bushes, has anyone used these?

They are working out at £70 delivered for 8 of their yellow (harder) wishbone bushes.

I have ordered a few bits, which is exiting,

But I'm working away from Monday until December so nothing is going to get done

I'm hoping though that when I get back I'll have all the parts to build the engine back up, mount the front subframe and gearbox then actually get the engine bolted to the box so I can make up some engine mounts.

I'm hoping at that point things will pick up a bit of pace.

I only really need to decide what clutch to use.
