Recently bought 93 S2 avant of an old schoolmate. Although i have had quite a few S2,s by now none have really had any problems. Hence i have never needed to do any serious work on them
this one needs a bit of TLC, nothing major though. First off, is it a real ballache to get the oil pan off with engine still in car? It has an oil leak, and i am narrowing it down to sump gasket... From what i can see it is dry above sump level, and it either leaks both front and back or it is at the front and the oil makes it's way to the back. First i thought it was the oil seal behind the flywheel, but it would probobly slip the clutch then? Second question. All my other S2,s have had oil preassure at around 1,5 bar at idle and 4,5-5 above say 2k rpm... This one however is at 1 bar at idle and just under 4 bar when driving... These readings are when engine is warm. Havent really looked when cold as it is stored at a mates house. If i rev it it at stand still to about 4k rpm it wil touch on 5 bar. My mate has had this car for 9 years before me, and it has always been the same afaik. Anything i should worry about?
Cheers

but am curious, as I have a lot of 'a bit damp' dust inside my gearbox's clutch bell housing - ABY Avant - and I'm not sure if my rear engine seal is weeping a bit even though it is a new genuine one.
