I could do with a tin now.
Do you forget i break cars got loads of spare hoses. Also got loads of hoses from when i worked as a agricultural engineer so finding one wasn't hard.

Ive managed to fit my nicely painted calipers this morning, no pictures yet but ive stumbled onto a problem
The union on the brake pipe from the ABS unit was seized i had anticipated this and brought a pipe flaring tool home from work The tool made up the copper link pipe but it wont flare the pipe i need it to
The pipe is coated in plastic (i think it original) and doesnt look like its made of copper.
When i try to flare it it just pushes the pipe out the clamp
We have got other flaring tools at work so will bring one of those home tomo but wondered if anybody has come across this before?

Hmm, looks like you've had a squirrel in residence first time I took the engine covers off my RS4 I discovered the area on top of the IM was covered in nuts and shells..

ive got a wet passenger carpet again pretty sure its coming in through the windscreen where its rusty, this is my temporary fix.

The screen has got a few big chips in it so i will be removing the good one in the S4. Remove the S6 one and repair the rust then fit the S4 one

It doesn't do any harm to rubber (i havent fitted any suspension bits to a car yet to see if it weakens the rubber over time) It is advisable to wear glove when using it but is environmentally friendly.

Its got a 1-9 parts water dilution rate.

Im really happy with it, it makes parts look like new.
Thank you for the detailed reply, now to try and source some of this stuff locally to give it a try.

Got the week off so i can fit my refurbished suspension parts and carry out the various things i want to do to the S6.

First up was to remove the front subframe to make removing the sump easier. When i got it removed i could see it was the crank seal leaking and not the sump gasket I had bought 2 gaskets so thought i might as well replace them anyway. whilst it was off i cleaned all the burnt oil that was in the sump.

i had previously fitted a new water pump and sorted the pipes under the inlet manifold. It was now time to fit the new cambelt. lucky i did as one of the cap head bolts was loose and the crank bolt was not tight (undid it with 1/2" drive bar with little effort)

tomorrows task is to refit the subframe (i have got my original springs in my de-rusting solution so cant fit the struts) Change the gearbox oil and filter and fit new output shaft seal.

                          Loving the updates Shaun.

That was a close shave on the loose crank bolt! What condition was the crankshaft pulley in,was it cracked? I didn't know gates belts were sold through audi i always thought the originals were Contitech.I live and learn. When i tried to get a belt from audi albeit a few months ago now audi said NLA. So i am puzzled as to where you got your belt?

                              Thanks macspring.

Somehow i missed that. Mine is a contitech belt correct one and on the back it also reads Nissan Bluebird 1.8. The indignation makes you cringe!

The crank pulley was crack free, my guess it had had the cambelt replaced not many miles ago but probably many years ago.
The cambelt was from ebay, i searched and a genuine one came up so i jumped on it
