I think that may be best route for me at the moment a chip. I'm moving home soon so don't want to start throwing loads of money at it just yet.
So where is best place for a chip? I have seen them on Ebay are any of them any good? I had a little race with a Bmw 330d couple of week ago, And it was pretty much even's. It might have been mapped not sure there was a fair bit of black smoke.
      Thanks again

PRJ on here. Others should be able to advise. He has a web site, you could contact him on, or do a search of the Members List, and you could send him a pm.

I would not buy an ebay chip, you have no idea what you are getting, might be a copy of a good chip, a copy of a bad chip.

PRJ, spink often has ecus lying about, good known chipset if one comes up for sale on here, S2central.

Yes i would say PRJ as well. I have driven an standard S6 chipped by him and boy the difference is astonishing to be honest. If you get bored with that then you can think about the Volvo turbo which will give you around 340-350bhp max with a few other associated bits that will feel much better low down and all the way through the rev range with the added bonus of the 60-70 extra horses.

Yes the Volvo turbo is nice / good, but it is not plug and play the way an RS2 one is.

Like lots of things on here, not as easy as described when one is only a mere mortal - married with kids and a mortgage.

              Otherwise I'd have one.

First thing is to check what boost it's making. Being an URS I guess it has the dash gauge.

Just though I would do a little update, And ask a couple of questions.
I bought one of Alberts tubular manifolds, And a k26/27 turbo.
The turbo was advertised saying it would be good for 450/480bhp.
I will get a new 044 type fuel pump and larger injectors when funds allow.
                    I'm wanting around 350 bhp,
What size/Type injectors should I go for?
Will my downpipe be ok for this?
Should I go for a remap?
                    Or is a chip available?
                    Thanks in advance

What size/Type injectors should I go for?
Bosch EV14's seem to be favourite, but be careful what your buying as there are a lot of fakes out there. Failing that, if you're only aiming for 350hp, the Bosch 440cc EV6's will be fine.

Will my downpipe be ok for this?
I'd go for a 2 3/4" or 3", try Danny at DNA Autocare, he bought all of 034's old stock

Should I go for a remap?
Yes, you'll need a re-map, I doubt a set of 'off the shelf' chips would be available for this spec.

                      Or is a chip available?
                      Doubtful

If you are going to run a tubular manifold you will need a custom downpipe, new turbo oil and water lines and a new intake setup.

If you only want 350bhp then you could use RS2 injectors, but why run a 450+turbo at 350? Why not use a smaller turbo and have less lag?

You will need a live map, I would discuss your injectors with whoever is mapping the car.

Automark is about 100 miles north, MRC 100 south.

Maybe I should go for 400bhp plus, Just don't want to bend my rods

Ask Mark what injectors he wants if he is mapping it.

He prefers to use electronic boost control at higher boost, he suggested eboost street to me.

If you're going to Mark he'll tell you to use the 440cc injectors, he's done a few cars with these now , all running around 400hp.
