How dirty was the water, have you given any thought to rinsing it with fresh water, obviously it means soaking your car again but may help remove smells that linger...

      Just a thought.

Still waiting for the garage to come make estimate on her, hoping this will be done tomorrow or Tuesday, cant do anything to her until they have pictures and stuff so they can make a proper estimate, then depending on whether the insurance will give me cash in lieu or not depends which route I take, but we've got all the water we can out of her, doors boot and sunroof open and she is not as bad as she was looking. The water was silty water and will clean up nice, got her into a larger storage where we have all the stuff now inside as the previous one flooded out again last week so we had to get everything out plus take care of home business too. Only a few items remain in the old storage now, so I can crack right on with the strip down, ordering a quiet generator too and power lights to see what I'm doing, the weather is cold, but because we've been working there pretty much every other day since it happened we are used to the temp, plus have caravan at side of unit so we can get warm and have a decent brew too. We are getting there slowly and have a god plan to go by, just a matter of time and there is a company locally who have cleaned other guys' leather interiors and came up nice, but they only had one car to deal with we had 3, now only 2 as the Q7 was taken away yesterday

Anyway will post updates when I get the chance.

After thought, we have the front of the cars on stands too so this is helping the water drain rearwards making easier to sook the water out with a vax machine, they really do hold a substantial amount of water when you see how much comes out...

is that a de-humidifier you made or an industrial one RK? I have one of those 12v ones that Kit mentioned but not yet got power to use, so far anyway.

The Forester we have only had footwell water but still not too good, however I've stripped this one out as we need to use this one so it has to go on the road soon and already the puddles in the rear footwell are drying out just the electrical blocks to clean and dry.

Having been fully submerged for weeks, partially in heavy silt is going to make for a lot more work than a brief dunk to glass level in relatively clean water. The Dutch car had also sustained serious panel damage to the the near side rear, whereas Mikes car is just dirty and of course wet.
It's my car in video and i'm belgian of Belgium and not Holland 😉

It would be great if you make a new thread with latest pictures and progress with your car. I've tried to view your old one but some of the images are not there any more.

                          Little update folks...

I finally got round to getting her up on ramps to get under her, seats removed now and tackling the dash to get to all the important connections seeing she was under water to the middle of the clocks might as well...

I wanted to remove the carpet without cutting it too, but what a b***h getting under there but we're almost there, note to self - do one bit at a time...

Found out why the speakers weren't working they were cut in several places

God my head was hurting from today and at least it's getting under way, got a good we box for keeping the nuts screws and little bolts in...just have to remember to put them in the box and we'll be good...

Wasn't all that long ago she looked like this...

soon though she'll be ready to get back together, I love jigsaw puzzles....just never opened any boxes before, how do you do them again...???
