Looks v good , exactly what I want to do to mine but trying to get hold of one is proving difficult, can't even fine one on Audi tradition .... And the repro ones look like they're not so well made , any tips ?

            1. What material did you use to make the insert?

            2. Don't you need a slot/hole for the bonnet's safety release?

Zoom in and you can see there is a small hole with catch. Looks quite good.

I would add some photos to explain but my computer doesn't want to do this simple task for some reason.
I bought a sheet of some 10mm x 15mm aluminium mesh which comes painted then bonded it into the original silver trim which I have painted gloss black.
At this point I fixed 6 small threaded screws one in each corner and one top and bottom in the centre. Marking the bonnet drill six holes and paint holes and bolt in grill.
I saw a picture some where of a bonnet catch that had been straightened down so I thought I would try it. Very easy and works perfect, as the bonnet pops up you can put your fingers underneath the bonnet and pull the release towards you unlatching the bonnet.

                    Got mesh of ebay.

Must be blind. Can't see any special holes.

You're using the S2 Forum "Manage Attachments" feature, right? IF so, you need to "browse" to the folder with the photo you want to attach and click on it. Then click "OPEN" to select and then "upload".

You must have already done this in this thread so I can't see where the issue would be.
